The Wave (Contempo) or Kona (at Poly)?

OK...this is my last reservation question. This would be for lunch after a full EMH morning at MK in May. Thanks for helping. (again!)

We really enjoyed the flatbreads at the Contempo, but have never needed a reservation. Haven't tried The Wave yet; maybe next trip! :)

Where do you get flat breads at Contempo...is this a table service venue? We are needing to use a TS for lunch on this day as to not be wasteful! Another question...I keep forgetting to think about travel times...if we do either the Contempo or the Poly for lunch, how much travel time is involved moving from MK to lunch and back to MK?

Possible confusion: the Contemporary Resort (CR) has a TS called The Wave and a CS called Contempo Cafe. Flatbreads are on the menu at Contempo Cafe.

Both The Wave and Kona get good reviews. They are very different types of food so I'd say to just pick whichever cuisine appeals to you more/whichever you are less able to get at home. Note that although it is not on the current AllEars menus, Kona offers some limited prix fixe choices that include app/entree/dessert; useful if you are on the regular DDP rather than DxDP.

If you are in a huge hurry you can walk to the CR but especially by the last day I want to sit down every chance I get, so I'd take the monorail. Your round trip travel time is then exactly the same between either restaurant and the MK, since the monorail goes in a circle and stops at both.

For lunch I would say The Wave.

The best TS meal of our last trip!

We had lunch at The Wave in January and had a bad experience involving a hair. Just wanted to give a heads up to the OP.

Never been to Kona, but The Wave is on my top 5 at WDW list.

If you enjoy Asian Fusion food, I love Kona for lunch or dinner. Perhaps compare the menus at allears.net then decide.

Enjoy!

We prefer the Wave, but as others have said they do have very different menus so it might be good to look them over. We ate the Wave Thanksgiving Weekend last year and had an ADR but there we only about 3 other groups in the whole place.

Enjoy:)

For lunch I would definitely go to Kona. It was hands down one of the best lunches of our trip. For dinner I would recommend the Wave. :goodvibes
