THE WAVE breakfast buffet

We have been several times and have always enjoyed it! I love the eggs benedict. However, this past May they didn't seem up to par, maybe just an off morning.

We would still try to get back there.

After 8 days of Deluxe Dining last March, The Wave was one of my favorite breakfasts! As already mentioned, the sweet potato pancakes with pecan honey butter are to die for. The grits are not only cheesy, but also bacon-y. The eggs benedict was quite lovely and had a nice spice in the hollandaise, some sort of hot sauce that gave it a very mild kick. It was also incredibly quiet and peaceful, which I certainly enjoyed!

Thank you for posting this review. I will definitely try the grits. We don't get to eat this dish in New England much and of the ones we did there was nothing special about it. It was my son that was pushing me about finding a non character breakfast buffet. The only time we have gone to the contemporary resort was for chef mickeys which he hated. So every time we go back I always mention the contemporary resort but he thinks I'm trying to get him to go back to chef mickeys so he refuses to even step foot in there. Going through the hotel in the monorail is ok lol. I'm so glad ,after showing him these reviews, that he can see there's other restaurants to try in this resort.

Can't wait to try when we go back, maybe they serve the same grits as the Concourse Steakhouse did. Best grits ever, sad it closed to never reopen somewhere else

we had breakfast at the Wave, though off the menu not buffet, and it was terrific...the sweet potato pancakes were outstanding...(we always stay at the CR)...

my daughter is not a big breakfast eater and we will be eating at the Wave for breakfast almost every morning for our upcoming August trip....she can get her fruit plate, my wife gets the omelet and me the pancakes...not very pricey compared to other places in WDW...

Thanks everyone, I even got my sister to try this on her next vacation. We're staying at POR so I know I need to get the bus to mk but would it be an easy walk over instead of taking the monorail? My mother has a scooter so it won't go there her too much.

We have been to the breakfast buffet once at The Wave and loved it. It was a nice relaxing change of pace compared to the noisy character breakfasts where we are also jumping up and down to get autographs and pics. We definitely plan on returning there.

Where is The Wave located in the Contemporary Resort? I'm assuming there is a pathway from the bus area in the mk to that resort.

First floor at the rear of the main lobby. If you're coming by monorail, take escalators down to the first floor and it will be right in front of you.

Well,I'm convinced and just booked a table for Aug23rd.
Hope it's ok,as rest of family want to go to olivias.:rolleyes2

For us, we got ress at 8:55am. If we're seated right away, we would be there an hour to an hour and a half. We are headed to epcot that day and I like to avoid that huge crowd trying to get in there right at 9am.

Just booked we are staying at BLT and I have heard great things about this one.

I've heard really great things about the breakfast buffet. I think I would be more likely to try breakfast than dinner as not much on the menu for dinner interest us.

Make sure when you come back to post how it was. Hope you and your family have a wonderful time:thumbsup2

Will do.

We did dinner there last Sept (got a walk in) and it was a great surprise. Delicious food.

To tell you the truth, I'm not much of a ts person anyway. I'd prefer qs the whole trip with a couple of sit down meals. We're staying at POR this time and with the fd you have to take the ddp so that leaves us making all these ress. I know it probably a waste to use a ts credit for breakfast but since I prefer to enter the parks a little later this works best for us.

Y'all convinced me, too. I just changed my ADR for Kouzzina breakfast to The Wave. :)

:thumbsup2 I just like the convenience of being close to the monorail. It's faster to load my mother with her scooter on and off the monorail than the buses. I hate the look on people's faces when they see the scooters lined up. When are you going back to wdw?

We stayed at POR last trip and walked to CR from the bus stop, it was about a 5 minute walk (but we do walk fast LOL) from the MK bus stop.

We found this to be easiest because you have to go in the other direction to catch the monorail, then up the ramp and wait (which isn't long especially early in the day) and even though it is only 1 stop it will end up being longer because when you get off @ CR you're on the 4th floor and The Wave is on the ground floor.

If you walk you're already on the ground floor.;) If you want to do the monorail ride you can catch it after breakfast but it does stop at the TTC, Poly and GF first or if you're in a rush to get to MK walk back.;)

ENJOY!! I'm getting hungry thinking about this breakfast!::yes::

My dad and I are going to DW Nov. 16 to the 23rd and are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. :)
