We had some of the best Disney Dining on our recent trip (just got home Monday night). By far the best, though, was dinner at The Wave at The Contemporary. Everything we ate was DELICIOUS. I would highly recommend adding it to your ADRs for a future trip. I've also heard tht the breakfast buffet is one of the best on property - and one of the least expensive. YUM.

This place is one of my favorites to have dinner. I have always been able to get in there with no issues and also always had great service.

It's definitely on our list for next year, especially since we are staying at CR! Can't wait to eat there.

NOTE1: On the check-in level of Contemporary, past Front Desk, then left. The dining entrées are a bit overpriced; service can be spotty, but food quality was above average. One problem is food doesn't always come out as ordered, or hot. The restaurant is a quiet place to eat as it doesn't seem to draw the loud kids or uncouth adults until much later into the dining hours. To us, it is an OK place to eat dinner, but nothing that rates a rave. The menu has American-type dishes versus something abstract or exotic. We thought the Pork Chop and locally-sourced Pork Tenderloin were very good, but were displeased with Oven Roasted Chicken and Beef Tenderloin. Trio Desserts, with three samples on same plate, are pretty tasty and recommended. The good side is that the bar/lounge is comforting-inviting-welcoming; a nice place to throw a few (or more) back. The eatery doesn't exude "Disney", but atmosphere is pleasant.
.
NOTE2: Above-average for dinner, but the breakfast buffet is one of WDW's best kept secrets for both price and quality, the other breakfast deal being Trails End in Fort Wilderness.

Thanks to OP for posting a well kept secret all over the Internet. (ok, it's not that well kept of a secret) :rotfl2:

Seriously, we stumbled on this place as a walk up a couple of years ago when we were staying at the Contemporary and was pleasantly surprised. We ended up doing breakfast the next day as well as our departure day. Very nice place indeed. :thumbsup2

We like eating here for breakfast. For our last trip, we stayed at the GF and took the monorail over just for breakfast.

For those that like/love it for dinner.....why do you like it? what makes it so good? what do you like about it?

hate to throw in a negative review, but we were just there last Saturday. I had the cioppino, which was probably the best thing on the table and just ok. Wife and daughter both had beef. The cuts in the non-signature restaurants seem to be of lower quality than the signatures. My daughters filet (medium rare) had more a texture like that of a sirloin, and my wifes ribeye was extremely thin and flavorless.
It was a busy Saturday night, and we did have an excellent server. The bacon and egg app was really good. I will probably give it another chance in a couple years, and maybe eat earlier in the evening.

gnocchi! Soooo good! I was really impressed by the service here, as well. I like service that treats kids like serious diners. They did. Formal and yet friendly. One of our new favorites, too.

Shhhhh....this is supposed to be our little secret. But, I whole heartedly agree. One of my favorite table service breakfasts on property. I love the buffet as well because I'm a girl who likes to sample.

We had lunch at the Wave on Friday, Dec 9th. We had just arrived and our room wasn't ready yet at Poly. We were the first table seated at the lunch hour so the restaurant was very quiet! Service was prompt and the food came out quickly. We were very satisfied, though other than my soup/salad/sandwich combo I can't remember what my DH and DS4 ordered. I just remember them enjoying it! I'd do a meal there again, though I found the lighting in the space to be a bit depressing (I prefer spaces with natural light but I realize that's not possible with their location).

We are going for the first time in Jan for dinner. I cannot wait to try this eatery out! I am disappointed in one of the previous reviews about the ribeye, I was going to order that. Maybe I will try the Scallops?? The Bacon and Eggs app sounds good too!

We are so excited to be having Christmas breakfast here which is normally a big thing for us at home.
We are going to stay away from the parks.
Our plan is after Breakfast to do a loop around the Monorail to check out the decorations at the Poly and GF.
Then check out a movie at Disney Springs.

We had a pretty good dinner here too, though breakfast was the real winner for us!

They also plan on doing some sort of variation on the "Little farmer" that they used to do --- My daughter was chosen a few years ago --- she had to pick four ingredients from a basket, and the chef came up with a special dish for the table --- they gave us nice pictures of the experience in a frame as well --- They stopped it when a new chef came in, but they are going to be doing it again soon. Another reason to go back !! Love it there !!
