we are looking for a couple of new restaurants to try this trip without spending too much - we have not eaten at either one of these restaurants -
would you recommend either and do you remember your salad and entrees?
many thanks!

Personally, I thought the food was a little better at the Wave. The salmon entree, in particular, was a favorite among the nine of us. The desserts are a little strange--do your homework before you choose your three mini desserts. My GF just hated her little desserts that were made with basil (or some herb like that). There was a salted caramel one that I should have ordered three of.;)

Since we were not staying at Saratoga Springs last trip, the bus ride there was long...

The service required patience (actually the same at the Wave--slow) and the food just wasn't spectacular. I thought the lamb chops were a disappointment.:sad2: Nothing really stood out to any of us as worth the trip over there--yet--I am a sucker for trying a new place and have read many reviews where diners were much more impressed than we. So, I say give 'em both a try!

New places for us to try this trip are Sanaa, T-Rex for the kids, Chefs and Citricos. I understand the need to keep things "fresh".

We stayed at SSR on our last trip and dined at Turf Club twice for dinner and loved it. I had the New York Strip with portabello mushrooms and blue cheese both times and loved it. :cloud9:

We also ate at The Wave for dinner twice (we were there for two weeks) and loved that meal as well. I know my husband had the Cinnamon-rubbed Grilled Pork Tenderloin and it was his favorite meal of the whole two weeks and he is a very picky eater. Even my 3yo devoured his pizza at there and he is fairly picky as well. ;) The desserts were a neat experience as well. They are all served in trios and were a nice finish to the meal.

We ate at The Wave in Dec. I have never eaten at Turf Club. I enjoyed The Wave but it was not my favorite of the trip. I got the filet and DH got the flank steak which I didn't get to try. DH liked it but he is easy to please. The filet was very good. The Wave did have very good desserts. I hope this helps.

Haven't tried The Wave, but we have done Turf Club several times (4-5?) when we stay at SSR, and have really enjoyed it. Service can be slow sometimes, but we are not ever in a hurry when we eat there. My favorite there is the Tuna - I love a good tuna steak! I miss the one at Coral Reef, and the one at TC has been just as good. PLus I am a sucker for Yukon Gold potatoes!

I've not been disappointed there, and it's a great place to go and relax. My kids like the little plastic horses the CMs bring them to play with!:thumbsup2

We've tried both, only for dinner. We prefer The Wave.

At The Wave, I usually eat the Beef Tenderloin and it's good. I remember commenting that they were one of the few restaurants who was able to cook my steak exactly Medium. :thumbsup2

At The Turf Club, I had the Prime Rib, which was not very good and tough. I was a little surprised because I've heard some good things about this restaurant. Also, I found the service was very slow, possibly since there were few guests at the time. :confused3

We haven't eaten at the Wave since shortly after they opened well over a year ago. Three of us ate there and none of us were particularly impressed. My husband's green salad and skirt steak were the best of the bunch. My mom ordered the pork loin, but didn't like it, so I traded her my pot pie. I didn't like her pork loin either, so left it. The dessert trios were pretty good though, but I don't remember exactly which ones we ordered. My mom ordered a soup for her appetizer and said it was just OK. I ordered an avocado citrus salad for mine that was really nasty. Basically that night I round up having a smoothie and the desserts for my meal, leaving the appetizer and entree.:rotfl:

The Turf Club I throughly enjoy. The calamari, steak with crab topping, and hot apple pie with ice cream are very good. They also have a blackberry lemonade that is delicious. I didn't order them but saw someone next to me order the ribs. They looked very good and he really seemed to be enjoying them.
