Some guy called up a local talk radio show and complained that the war is "too boring". I wasn't aware it was supposed to be entertainment. Made me mad.

That's one of the most idiotic statements I have ever heard.

:( :( :(

I believe that the media set up this mentality with their weeks of predictions regarding strategy, etc. Every network has a retired general or two who have been spouting about what would happen and when once it was launched.

There was so much talk about the "shock and awe" campaign that some war watchers are probably disappointed that this doesn't seem to be necessary after all.

If it's on CNN 24 hours a day - some people do watch that for its entertainment value.

Maybe the more logical comment would be that the activity may not warrant 24-hour coverage on ALL of the networks.

Perhaps this caller would find it less "boring" if he were dropped smack in the middle of the action in Iraq.

Yes. I think that's exactly what he needs.

Well for him, this is probably just another reality show.

Didn't you watch South Park this week? Earth is a reality show! Just hope we don't get cancelled! ;)

LOL! That was a GREAT episode! The whole Dukes of Hazzard parody had me rolling.....:teeth:

The war coverage is the problem. My heart aches for the people over there. I had a BIL who served in Desert Storm and have heard his stories. But 24hr a day coverage on every tv channel. This is ridiculous. And they bring in anybody who can comment and they drone on and on and on about their opinions. These new commentators are the very ones who were so anti-war last week. I actually was watching some coverage yesterday where the anchor was critiquing changes in plans, saying to the military type guy, don't you think it's risky for so and so to make such and such change. And he's just an anchor.
Even worst, I think this must be awful if you have a loved one over there. Then you probably can't stop watching. Can you imagine if something really bad unfolds on tv, before family members have been notified. I think updates during the news, with important bulletins, and maybe one special program a day would be more then sufficient coverage. If I want more I can tune to CNN. Towards the end of yesterday, I would only put on food tv.
