The Walt Disney World Corp. Executive Office just called me!

Kitty
I am new to this site and I just read your story. I have also been touched by diabetes. My Mom(the one who taught me how to LOVE WDW) died due to complications in 2000. We saw her suffer for years(circulation, double amputee,...). She did not get a chance to go back to WDW. In her memory, my family did a lot of volunteer work for ADA and raised over$50,000 in 3 years. We did the Disney Marathon in her memory! I will never forget running up Main Street with tears in my eyes...tears of sadness AND joy! I was in my Mom's favorite place trying to make even the smallest difference. THANK YOU for your incredible story. I will keep you in my prayers. I look forward to reading your book. HAVE A GREAT TIME in that MAGICAL WORLD!! ::MickeyMo

What wonderful news! I am so sorry that I can't be there for your ceremony. Your story is so inspiring. My mom has last part of her hand and a leg due to infections caused by her diabetes. I've seen (too painfully close) what the disease can do to a person and their family. Your story is amazing.

We won't be there when you are, but I will think about you as we circle the castle when we are there in September. I can't wait to hear about your ceremony after you return.

God Bless You
I am sure this has been a long haul for you and family
If I was at WDW during that time, I would gladly be there for you

Have a wonderful time
Enjoy your new life

And hope this infiormation helps someone else here on the boards

We are totally amazed at your story. My grandmother died from complications from diabetes 10 yrs. ago. We will miss the ceremony by 2 days but I will be thinking of you and your family and friends. :grouphug:

Congratulations--on everything. I just read the other thread and found it quite inspiring. Your decision to hold the ceremony is so....well, filled with Disney magic. I wish I I could be there to witness it, and to participate in your celebration in some small way.

Oh well, in my case I'll participate vicariously through DISboards. Rest assured, I'll be another person who will be thinking of you on that day. Be sure to tell us all about it.

Once again, congratulations.

You are an inspiration! I am so happy for you. Go and have a wonderful trip and celebrate your life!!!

I currently have a friend who's son is fighting for his life, he has a brain anurysm caused by his car accident/coma last year. I am going to show her son your story tomorrow. I think it will be an inspiration for him and may help him get through his surgery.

God Bless you and have a wonderful trip. I wish I could be there, but know that I will say a special prayer for you and your donors family at exactly 11:00 that day. :sunny:

I will be down there, and hope to make it. I think I remember the abc6 thing a few years back and that was very cool. Your story is inspiring, and I am very glad things have worked out. I know you will have a wonderful trip and ceremony. It was very nice of Disney to call as well.
