So you're interested in visiting the Walt Disney Family Museum ...
Well, you might be able to do so for FREE.
From May 31 (Memorial Day) to Sept. 6 (Labor Day), the Walt Disney Family Museum is joining more than 600 of its peers across the country by offering FREE admissions to active duty military personnel and their families.
This is being done by Blue Star Museums and is being made possible through a partnership among Blue Star Families, the National Endowment for the Arts and the participating museums. The free admissions are designed to show appreciation to the men and women who are serving this nation.
Here's some basic information, but please visit http://www.arts.gov/national/bluestarmuseums/index.php and check the FAQs for further details.
If you are active duty military personnel and/or an immediate family members - spouse or child - to gain free access, please show either a Geneva Conventions CAC ID or a DD Form 1173 ID card at the museum admissions desk. Immediate family members under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an appropriate ID holder.
Some special events or limited-time museum exhibits may not be included in this free admission program, so check with the museum directly. Also, given that the Walt Disney Family Museum uses timed-entry admissions and offers its tickets up to 60 days in advance online, the offer may be limited to available tickets on the day of the visit or at least require an onsite visit to be obtained for a later date. I'll let you know more once the WDFM releases its guidelines.
