I think it is interesting how Daryl is now regretting not doing what Carl wanted to do in the beginning. Shoot the Governor.... - Kill or be Killed

The Governor was a major character killed too as well as Hershel.

I see no reason why Beth and Daryl should not get together. This is the ZA and there is slim pickings as well as if you can find love, happiness and serenity in someone, take it. It may not last for long. You also could not find a better protector and provider than Daryl either.

Gross! While it would be the writers and not actually Daryl, I'd be so grossed out to see them together. She was introduced as a young girl and Daryl as a protector, it's too pedophile for me. Gross.

Isn't the actress, who plays Beth, 28? How old is Beth and Daryl supposed to be? I'd say about 20 for Beth and 35 for Daryl (Norman is 45 though).

Beth in real life is 27. On the show she was 16 when we first met her on the farm. So about 18 now.
As for Daryl, I don't think they've ever really said, but I'm guessing mid 30s. He's younger than Merle, and I would've guessed late 30s for Merle.

Agreed!

That entire episode was just bad. I understand that the show can not be action packed each episode. I think the episodes since the hiatus have been lacking. The writers are trying too hard. The show is good entertainment, not psychology 101.

Daryl and Beth have zero chemistry. Very odd pairing and I was not impressed with the acting during that episode.

They do have a history of giving people their biggest episode, with the most lines, and then killing them off right after. Let's see: Dale, Axel, Hershel, Martinez all went out that way. Also, I believe they had the Governor on TD the week before he was killed off.

So Beth... it was nice knowing you. ;) Maybe Maggie doesn't recognize her in the fog (or the smoke from the fire she set) and kills her. That would be totally tragic.

Also, was Beth not married to Jimmy? I seem to think she was 17 and married to him.

No Beth was younger than that, 15 maybe? And Herschel said he was now responsible for her boyfriend.

According to the Walking Dead Wiki, Beth was 16 in season 2 and 18 in season 4. Jimmy is listed as her boyfriend (deceased).

And interestingly, Daryl is listed as "mid 30s to early 40s" so no definite age listed.

Maybe it will be Daryl who bites it....:scared1:

The two guests on TD this Sunday are Maggie and Sacha. Since they didn't say, "and a special WD cast member" I don't think anyone will die. Whenever someone is killed off and they are appearing on the TD, they always say, "and we will have a surprise cast member from WD."

Agree. There was a lot of eye rolling on my part. I liked the part where Daryl opened up a bit about himself but Beth and all her 'I want a drink' bs was annoying to me. I can't believe they made an episode out of this. It's bad when I start wanting characters to be killed off.

I was thinking with all the Beth "time" it could be her. She did she tell Daryl that he would miss her when she was gone. Maybe too obvious? :rotfl:

I don't know who but I feel it coming.

I think the purpose of this epi was to show that Beth has grown up. To see her more mature like an adult & the connection between the 2. That way they can now have them get intimate w/o the audience freaking out over it still thinking she is too young.

I don't see that happening. I think it was important for them both to connect on an emotional level without gong down that road.

When Axel asked how old she was in the prison last season (right before Carol called him off and he said he thought Carol was a lesbian), Beth told him she was 17, so that sounds about right.

I agree with you - but no - that is not what this show is about. My opinion, we will have another main character - didn't say major.

There are a few I don't even know well like tara, lizzie, her sister - the dude that is an alcoholic - (roy?) hmmm maybe even Tyrese. I'm just speculating. Maybe even Sasha.

I think we will see another main (minor?) character die.

true, major and main are different. I'd be OK with Lizzie or Bob (the alcoholic) or maybe even Tyrese or Sasha, they aren't my favorites so I wouldn't mind.....LOL ;)

I do think Daryl is a great protector/provider but I just feel skeevy thinking about a possible relationship between them. I know Daryl isn't as old as Norman Reedus and I know that Beth is younger than Emily Kinney so it isn't really as weird as it seems but since Beth was 16 and Daryl was 30+ when they met I'm just not OK with it. I think they both need characters around their own ages, but who knows, if it happens at the end of this season I might honestly change my mind....lol Just not now.....

NO NO NO NO NO NO! That is NOT ok! lol

I don't think they are leading up to any intimate relationship between Beth and Daryl. I think they needed to get Daryl to open up about what he was feeling (his "I give up" attitude). The alcohol enabled him to open up about his feelings while at the same time, addressing Beth's need to move into adulthood (if she is going to survive out there).

But who knows. I've never been right about anything I think they are leading up to in this show before, why start now :lmao:

What I did like was that the whole episode was loaded with contasts. Daryl softening up and Beth hardening up. The Country Club vs. the moonshine shack. The clean white sweater vs. messy zombie killing. The past vs. the present, etc.

I definitely agree, especially about Beth hardening up and Daryl getting over his past in order to move one.

Spoiler in white:
From what I've heard, Beth and Daryl get separated in the next episode. Daryl ends up coming across a group of men (the same group Rick ran into maybe?) and has been seen walking down the train tracks with them. Those are based on set pics people have seen. No Beth with him when he's on the tracks with these other guys.

Thank you - bob is his name! see I wouldn't miss him either, I don't even know his name.:rotfl2: Any of those you mentioned wouldn't upset me greatly although I do like Tyrese.

Daryl - NOT A CHANCE! Pretty much, he IS the show right now. I also don't see the show taking Beth and Daryl into an intimate relationship - he is more like a big brother. The age difference is just too great. I used to think Carl and Beth but he is a bit too young.

The Apocalypse is in need of a steamy romance but I can't come up with the couple it could be between.:rotfl:
