The Walking Dead on AMC

I for one think they should have just left Judith "gone". So much easier than changing diapers and lugging formula in the woods. She is gonna get someone killed with the crying. OK with the girls, does anyone think Carol came up to what Lizzie was doing with Judith? I now think she know's what kind of girl Lizzie is turning into. (plus after what happened in the jail) Why then the motherly bond with them?? Teaching them to defend themselves is one thing but what Lizzie did with Judith is awful. :(

I'm new to this thread, but I totally agree with you! I told my DH that I think it's a bad idea to have a lot of kids (except Carl, of course) on the show, because either something bad has to happen to them (which I don't want to see!) or they have to keep them on forever.

Did anyone else think that Carol showing up was a dream at first? DH and I watched it last night and I was sure that the guy (Tyrese? I'm bad with names) had been killed by the zombies and was hallucinating when he saw her.

My DH said the guys that they met at the very end are bad; he's read the comic books. He also said that the place marked on the map is another town like the Governor lived in but worse. He said he hoped they don't actually get there this season but didn't give me the details (because I'm squeamish, I guess) :)

I was thinking that Judith being alive represents hope for the future. I know that in the comics Judith dies, but the comics are also very dark and sad (IMO). So maybe this is their way of changing the story to make things more hopeful :confused3

I agree!

I already can't take the Sgt from the very end of the episode seriously. The first thing out of my mouth was 'That's Tony from 90210! He took Brenda to the prom!' :rotfl:

I think your husband is confusing this group with another group Rick and Comp. ran into around the same time. The other group was very, very bad. I really don't see any way for the PTB to use that other group as a storyline on TV. Maybe if this were an HBO, or Showtime, channel they could, but not on a regular cable TV channel. It was an extremely dark storyline.

In the comic books Abraham, Eugene and Rosita are very good people and the new town is a good thing, nothing like Woodbury.

It was in her pocket. I have to watch the finale again, but I'm guessing (hoping?) that it was already in there when all hell broke loose, so it wound up coming with her when they had to run. You can see it lying on the ground between her and Daryl when they're lying on the ground at the beginning of the episode too.

I rewatched Sunday's episode again yesterday and there were two scenes that showed the journal in her back pocket. So yes, I think she just had it with her when the fight started at the prison.

Also, in the fire scene, they show her tearing off a page but you can't see if anything is written on it. But the page before and after it were blank. So I still think she was just using extra pages from the journal to keep the fire going. :thumbsup2

Alright...so my DD has read 2 big books of Walking Dead comics (that have 8 volumes each...called compendiums) and I just am going to have to go ask her to fill me in. I cannot wait for next Sunday.

I have had both of those books in my wish list on Amazon for a while now :rotfl2: Do you know far into the serious do the books go (or is there a third, by now)?

Since I got my taxes finishes last night, I may just have to reward myself by finally buying them :thumbsup2 I really want to see how the TV series compares to the comics.

When I checked on Amazon, they were out of stock with an expected restock date of April 2nd :(

There's a Walking Dead app for the iPhone. You can buy the books there and read them from your iPhone or iPad. That's how I've read every single book/comic.

I just saw that too. :sad2: Oh well, I ordered them anyway and they will be a nice surprise when they actually show up at my door :thumbsup2

I may also see if I can find them someplace else and just cancel the backorder on amazon.

I'm starting to think maybe Carol might, if it comes to that.

In the comics (and I don't want to spoil anything, so I'm trying to be careful), it was Rick and Abraham who had to deal with what do with their, um...problem child. I have a funny feeling that it might be Carol who settles it here.

I haven't read the comics so thank you for not spoiling. :) I have the same feeling you do in regards to Lizzie and Carol.....I can't see this having a happy ending.

Without kids the human race will die out. I like that they have kids on the show, it adds a sense of realism that would be lacking if there were only adults.
I didn't think he was dreaming when he saw Carol, I was happy for him because I felt like he was getting overwhelmed with the girls and trying to keep them safe and deal with his hurt arm.

The human race will die out anyways, they all have the virus. I would think Judith would have it also from Lori. There will not be a good ending for any of them and watching the kids go down ain't my thing..I almost flipped of the TV with Judith.

But we don't know much yet about the virus. What if Judith is immune to it? What if it's not passed down to future generations? What if a cure becomes available? I don't think its crazy to have kids on the show and have life continue like it would before the ZA.

They all have a virus that activates when they die. It's not killing them off on its own. Wouldn't it be more practical to help them survive as long as they could, keeping that virus at bay, instead of thinking it would be better if they were gone just because dealing with diapers and baby formula is hard? The point is survival, not letting people die just to make things easier.

To be honest, Lizzie is more of a problem than Judith is.

Maybe Judith has the anitvirus in her blood being born after the zombie outbreak? You never know. Personally, I would think if a zombie apocalypse happened you would have a lot of little lizzies around considering they are too young to process the loss of loved ones, having to kill off zombies, and try and survive when they are petrified and don't have the ability to cope like adults. I think more of their minds would snap and they would just worry about not being eaten by zombies even if that meant killing humans who threatened their survival. If you look at some kids in the foster care system and how some young minds just snap from trauma it would make sense.

all I kept thinking of when Judith kept crying was one of the final MASH episodes. Hawkeye (Alan Alda) was, (once again) in therapy with Sidney. he is very upset about being on a bus that has to pull over and be very quiet because the enemy is near. and a korean woman is very upset because she cannot keep her chicken from cheeping.. she finally holds her hand over the chicken's beak to keep it from making noise, and giving them away to the enemy. and the chicken suffocates.

but then hawkeye suddenly remembers!!! it wasn't a chicken!! it was a BABY!!!! OMG! she suffocated her own baby, so as not to risk everyone being captured.

(a much lesser risk than: "death by zombies" lol)

I was thinking that too!

It also reminded me of the Stephen King book, IT, where a little boy suffocated his baby brother. He did it while their mother was taking a nap, then went back to watching cartoons. When they found the baby later, they assumed it was a crib death and no one ever knew the brother (who was only 5) had done it.

I don't care how scary the clown in that book was, that was the most disturbing chapter in the whole book. And the only time you kinda rooted for the clown, since he ate that little psychopath later.
