I thought the Gov doubled back and killed the folks in that camp. I also thought he did it because he wanted to manipulate the situation to his advantage and position himself to take over.

Wouldn't the other guy's hear the screaming, they didn't seem that far off?? And if he did do it (which I don't think he did) where did he hide all those supplies?

The past two episodes have been the best of the season so far. Fantastic acting and storytelling. I love it.

I hope the mid-season finale ends with Beth and Judith dying during the Gov's attack. I've a feeling it will.

Why would you hope a baby is murdered???

she's been on the TD before, so has Rick.
So had Daryl :lovestruc

I think there will be a new villain. I also wonder about who killed those people in the camp. Wouldn't the Gov and his group have heard the gun shots and screaming etc?

I am curious as to what has been happening at the prison after the outbreak. I guess we find out next week.

I think mid-season finale means it starts up again after the holidays. Probably in Jan.

Nothing has happened since the outbreak yet, since we are just now back in real time to right when the outbreak ended, so we should pick up right where we left off.
Just in time for the Daryl Rick conversation before the governer shows up :).
Did they bring the tank?

I was also wondering about that. It sure seems like his style, but was he ever out of their sight? And didn't they hear screaming isn't that what made them go back to the camp? I was also wondering if it was him, where is the stuff, he couldn't have just hidden all that by himself that quick. But he is the gov, maybe he can LOL.
And if it wasn't him, that means there were 3 groups of people living in such close proximity, and all nearby the prison.
I have no idea who behaded the guys, I don't think Michonne would kill people for no reason.

I feel bad for Lily and Megan, they have no idea who they are living with. Do you think any of this group will end up in the prison for the 2nd half of the season? Assuming the gov will surely die this time, he can just escape twice.

I felt like the man who lived in the cabin beheaded all those people trying to keep his family safe, and it still didn't work (not Michonne).

Martinez was getting on the Governor about how he'd never want another family because it's impossible to keep them safe.

Then the new leader of the group who was trying to still be civil made an error that cost them supplies and impeded their survival. It was not the Governor who killed that group.

But the Governor saw all this, and he fell back into cutthroat mode. Anything for his "family" to survive. He's obviously mentally disturbed-- he doesn't want to do these things, which was why he was muttering over Martinez as he killed him, but his desire to protect his "family" always wins out.

But seriously . . . why do people feel like camping outside is a safer bet than staying in a house?

I don't understand that either. I also wonder why they don't just finish off walkers that they find. When there is only one or two I'd certainly want to have them taken care of so they don't find a way to sneak up on me later :confused3

We weren't crazy about the episode either. Poor Martinez, he should have known better to trust the Gov at all. AND next week's should be titled "Deja Vu" b/c it's back to another battle at the prison. So who will die from the prison is the main question. Hershel? Maggie? Medic Bob (or whatever his name is)? I doubt it will be Glen since he is just recovering.

Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick, has said in a couple interviews that the ninth episode will shock viewers. After he read the episode's script, he called other cast members and producers to question if what he read is really going to happen.

So, my guess is Beth will be running away with Judith in her arms, and both will be shot down in the mid-season finale but we don't find out until they come back from the break. Or, we don't even see the battle until the ninth episode, when it happens.

That's the way Lori and Judith died in the comic book.

It'll be the thing that pushes Rick completely over the edge, and it'll be the thing that leads to the Gov's death at the end of the season.

Agreed....

Are you sure he said the 9th? The 8th episode is the mid season finale. The 9th will be when they return from hiatus.

He said the ninth. I've edited my post to clarify.

I do think a major character will die in the mid-season finale. If they follow the comic on that bit, then it'll be Tyrese being beheaded by the Gov. Or, Hershel could take Tyrese's place in that scene.

Well, we know it won't be Carol!

I'm pretty sure it's going to be Hershel dying.

Likely so. I'm guessing the Gov sneaks up on Michonne and Hershel as they're burning bodies or something, and Michonne gets knocked out and Hershel gets kidnapped at gunpoint.

As much as I don't want this week to fly by because I'm on vacation, I'm super eager to see what happens on Sunday :)

I don't think the Governor shot or was going to shoot either Hershel or Michonne right then. I think he thought about it because he really wants Michonne dead, but realized that it was one versus however many were in the prison and that if he shot now, he'd give himself away. Much better to come back with his group when they aren't expecting him at all and take over the prison. Though he's had moments of pure craziness (like massacring his own people after the prison attack last season), I think he's a very smart bad guy and would think about consequences before such a drastic action.

Here is another theory being spoken about elsewhere.Comic related they believe there is a third group, more dangerous mafia type. You give us supplies and we will protect you. Don't we kill you. (which happened to tent people) also a theory about something happening to Carl(Losing an eye is what I heard

But yes I'm guessing Hershel is a goner too.

Regarding the mafia-type group: I'm not sure they'll do that storyline so early on in the series. Negan, the head of the Saviors mob, is a lot like The Governor in terms of viciousness.

I'd basically go the way the comic did and, after the Gov falls, introduce The Hunters, which is a group of cannibals that stalk Rick's remaining group.

In the sneak peak on Talking Dead, didn't the Governor tell his group " we have to move now, they are going to realize they are missing." ?

I think it is Hershel and Michonne :sad1:

I heard that line in the preview too & didn't understand it. He must take a few from the prison at some point. Even that preview felt like deja vu b/c didn't he give close to the same speech to the Woodbury group about the prison group?
I liked the comment on Talking Dead how the Gov is making a new aquarium by putting Pete in the lake. Also, Jose (Martinez) said that the prison group actors were gone at Comic-con while they filmed these 2 episodes. That would give reason to the Gov only episodes so they didn't have to stop filming for Comic-con.
My DH commented that he thought Beth & Judith would die next week to go along with what happens in the comics. Wouldn't that be nice during Thanksgiving weekend?? :/

I also thought he was talking to Carol in the beginning when he's answering questions on what had happened to him. It sounded like Carol's voice. I guess it was the new sex partner's voice...what's her name?

DH and I also though it sounded like Carol :confused3
