Andrea may try to kill the Gov, but I am guessing it falls through. This may be the end for her. I do hope Milton does try to help her. I would guess Tyrese leaves & Andrea tries to sabotage things or Andrea leaves & Milton (w/Tyrese's help) tries to sabotage. I also felt like Martinez may help too. That was the Gov's mistake in letting some of his group to meet the other group. It's hard to just kill them once you have a better sense of who they actually are & not just take the Gov's bull about them being terrorists.

I personally love this storyline. It feels like something like this would likely happen in the event of a zombie apocalypse. Zombies aren't evil but people sure can be.

I thought the same thing, that zombies have really taken a sideline to all the human drama, but I think that if it was "all zombies, all the time", it might get dull, too. I do think this is a natural extension of what would happen in a ZA. Once people get adept at managing the zombies, who frankly, aren't very smart or quick, they move on to other things. They are rebuilding a world for themselves. And struggles for power and land have been at the base of every civilization.

I think Martinez will be the dissenter. We saw him soften his stance last night while talking to Daryl.

To me I felt the meeting had more meaning in the episode to it then the focus being on Rick and the Governor. By Martinez and Darryl, and Herschel and Milton interacting I think it made them realize that this feud was, well, dumb. I think both Milton and Martinez will come to the realization that there is no reason for them to fight. That they are not a bad group (at the prison) and they are just trying to survive as well. I think when it comes down to it, Martinez will not be able to kill any of them.

This reminded me a little of Stephen King's "Storm of the Century" aka sacrifice one person for the good of the rest. It doesn't seem, though, that they're buying it, so that's good.

I think Earl is going to step up and redeem himself. After the talk with his brother in the forest you see a big change in his rage.

I feel like he is going to sacrifice himself for the good of the group and his brother.

I think so too. I suspect his story ends in the battle with the Governor, and that he's going to go out a hero. Herschel nailed Merle's entire character when he told the others not to underestimate his loyalty to his brother.

Killing zombies is only amusing for so long. The whole theme of the comics has been the way the "survivors" deal with the post-apocalyptic world. But there have been moments where it frustrates me too because at this point it just defies reason - the building to a war between the two camps makes sense only in TV-land... In real life I'd be gathering my family and taking a page out of Morgan's book - clearing and securing a more normal/sustainable setting rather than holing up in a huge complex with a giant bullseye painted on it, especially now that the prison's defenses have been so weakened by the Governor's zombiemobile.

This week's episode was great, though. Pairing Milton and Herschel and Martinez and Daryl the way they did was brilliant. I've been figuring Milton will betray the Governor sooner or later; he's only loyal to the degree that it benefits him and he clearly doesn't support the idea of putting Woodbury at risk to wipe out Rick's rag-tag group. But last night was really the first glimpse we got of Martinez as a character with his own motivations and it opened the door to the possibility that he might not be all that loyal to the Governor either when it comes right down to it.

I thought it was great interactions between the two "advisors" Herschel & Milton, and the two "henchmen" Darryl and Martinez.

Did anyone see TD? I had no idea the actress who plays Maggie is British! All these British actors on the show do excellent American accents.

Did I miss the episode where they stopped killing zombies??

I think it's been great. Any story about the end of the world is going to be about what's left without order or law, and with survivors fighting over what's left. It's meant to bring out the best and worst in people. The Governor is clearly a dangerous sociopath - it makes you wonder what kind of things he was up to before the zombies showed up - and in the old world maybe if he was caught it would be left up to the police and whatever to deal with him. With that all gone, it's up to everyday people to survive not only the threat from walkers, but from people like that.

The zombie stuff is great (Daryl and Martinez having it out last night was classic )...but it's stuff like the hitchhiker they left behind last week, and what happened to Morgan that sticks with me when the show is over. I think I was holding my breath during every Rick/Governor scene last night.

Zombies are awful, but they're predictable...we all know what they want. The rest of the living? Who knows.

My prediction..partly aided by the preview...is Tyreese will be the fulcrum that eventually swings the tide in Rick's favor. Tyreese still seemingly is cleaning on to the human spirit and that the people of good mind and morals still exist.

I think once he sees how ruthless and diabolical The Governor is .... knowing the quality of people in Rick's group... that he ultimately comes to their aide and finds his place amongst them.

I still can't help but think Andrea's days are numbered. She made her bed (literally) with The Governor and will ultimately pay for that decision.

How Norman likes to tool around GA on a motorcycle <sigh> when he's not on set and he likes to give people dirty looks. Also mentioned was that Norman's favorite scene in last night's episode probably wasn't the favorite for the guy who plays Martinez - that actor got hit in the back of the head with a rubber knife a few times! Bwahahaha!!! I was literally when I read that bubble.

Personally I love that this show is so much more about the people than the walkers. It's about survival and when the world is in that state there are so many more aspects to survival. Like the tag line says, kill the dead fear the living.

Question about older episodes. On the highway there were so many cars with dead people rotting away in them. Knowing what we know now, why weren't they all walkers? Are we to think they were all shot in the head or something?

I think the idea is that the walkers can actually "die". The idea is that they actually can actually just "rot". So if the brain tissue is so damaged from rotting, it is just the same as a bullet to the head.

I just found it strange watching it again, all these dead people, still buckled in their cars.

I believe Kirkman addressed this on Talking Dead. Or maybe twitter. I can't remember where. He mentioned that the dead people in the cars could have suffered head trauma in the car accident which caused them not to turn.

I haven't paid alot of attention to the cars to notice if they appeared damaged. I'm typically watching to see if any of these people move.

I suppose that makes sense. And yes, not paying much attention to condition, but it looked to me like most of them were just stopped on the road, since they were walking between the cars. But I will stop overthinking it now. That's what I get for rewatching LOL.

I have been reading this thread but only up to the point that corresponded with the episode I was watching. I wanted so much to add my comments about an episode only to realize that I was reading posts from 2011

Add me to the Daryl fanclub too. I have my little Daryl and RV Walker vinyls that I picked up at Hot Topic last weekend while my kids were checking out the Doctor Who items.

Ugh..I hate having to wait until Sunday for the next episode now!!
