I thought that they wasted a lot of ammo, when Shane took Andrea to the subdivision for target practice.

I never realized until the Dale scene that they had any cattle on the farm, but you would of thought between the sounds that the cattle made and the horses, not to mention all the shooting sounds on the farm would have attracted walkers way before.

I have to say Daryl is my favorite. I didn't like Carol saying to him that he was Rick's henchmen.

I enojyed watching the webisodes last season with the women walker, I wished they would do more. I thought they were going to do more, but it seems like they are behind the scenes.

Lori, Lori, Lori when is that woman going to get a clue? And why is Carl again wondering around at night?

They mentioned Herschel surviving. Apparently they toyed with the idea of killing him but didn't like that direction. I'm glad that he went with them - he is a great character.

Yay to Merle coming back. Daryl needs something to do besides just be cool.

I don't think Merle is coming back. On the Talking Dead, they said one out of the three (Merle, Morgan, Duane) would reappear. If they follow the comic at all, it will be Morgan.

Through the comics I have read through so far - Issue #48 - no.

i don't think merle is coming back. On the talking dead, they said one out of the three (merle, morgan, duane) would reappear. if they follow the comic at all, it will be morgan.

How is that a spoiler? That's nothing more than speculation. Since the show is deviating, quite a bit, from the comics there's no way to know for sure who will be returning.

That being said, I really don't know how they'll be able to make Volume 5 acceptable for television. That was one dark read, and I need to be on a Wi Fi network to download Volume 6....So I have no idea what happens next!!! I can't wait to get home!

It is a spoiler because there is a possibility it could follow the comic. There is a reason nobody here said "Hey, in the comic, Shane dies pretty early". There is a reason why people got upset when AMC accidentally released the fact that Shane will die BEFORE it actually happened in the tv episodes. I guess I just see things differently.

Yeah... no, that isn't a spoiler. A spoiler is spilling stuff that's definitely going to happen. This was just speculation. Since there are so many things about the comics that are different from the TV show, it's only speculation.

But on the Talking Dead, Kirkman said that there is a 100% chance you'd see AT LEAST 33% of either Merle, Duane, or Morgan THIS SEASON. So we could see more. Or not... the others could come back in season 4. So Morgan can and probably will show up eventually. That's only speculation... at this point I don't even think the cast has much clue what will be happening in season 3.

Actually, it was not discussed here until after AMC accidentally released the information. I have enjoyed this thread so far for the same reason I enjoy Talking Dead. However, there is a reason why Talking Dead doesn't reveal what has happened in the comic until the show catches up to that point. That is why when asked about who might be returning in season 3, they said of 3 people, it is 100% certainty that 33% will return. In no way did they say exactly who that would be. They left that up to speculation.

I agree! I told my DH nearly the same thing "What's up with Carol being all cranky at Rick all of a sudden?" She goes from being fairly quiet but likeable and sympathetic to nasty pot stirrer in one evening!

I also must just re-state that Daryl is officially my favorite.The crap hits the fan, I want to be with him!

My DH said "Of course it had to be him to rescue Carol" when he saved her. And I do think he needs a better ride. Riding that bike is like just asking to be dumped into a nest of Walkers.

I thought it was brought up as one of the major differences between the comics and the series (on the boards here) - the fact that a major character in the tv series wasn't even a "major" character in the comic books - Shane.

I know I try not to give away the plots within the Comics only to the point that the timeline matches what is in the TV series. My theory on the TV series vs. the comic series is the characters that would be considered main characters in either is not necessarily true of the others. Now I do think they are following the main location changes (i.e. Camp outside of Atlanta -> Herschel's Farm -> xxxxxxx) - exception being the CDC.

Edited to add: I actually discussed it back in post #449 - Shane being killed early on in the Comics. I was shocked to even think they got rid of Sophia as she isn't dead in the comics.

Her father wasn't even around when they set up camp in Atlanta. I don't recall if they ever said what happened to him but for some reason I think he is dead. She is younger in the comics - I believe she is like 6/7. In the TV series how old was she supposed to be - 10/11?

No. He was never in the comic. It was only Carol and Sophia, they never said what happened to him. Carl and Sophia are both 7 years old in the comic.

Thanks. Yeah, I think Carl and Sophia are supposed to be about the same age. I was guessing no older than 12 on the tv show. I can see why they would probably want the kids to be a bit older on the show. I can't imagine giving a 6 or 7 year old a gun. Interesting about Sophia's father. I guess having the dad as a character and to top it off, having him an abusive monster, sort of helped with Carol's character development. Thanks to Daryl, she is going from weak to more confident as the episodes progress.
