The walking dead amc #2

I know! I wanted Daryl to get that cross bow back and put an arrow through his head.

What were the other "prisoners" doing to the walkers by the fence? They looked like they were running with buckets or something? does anyone know? They all had the same outfit as Daryl, so I assume they were trying to break these people too?
I thought the other prisoners where placing the walkers on the fence. The bucket stopped the walkers from biting them during this. That's why you would see them pull the bucket off and run away.

No comments on the briefly glimpsed nekked Darryl ;)? My DH (always a jokester) said, "God, his hair looks even more unwashed than ever". I thought his acting, especially through his body language was really good, even the little things, like when he flinched his bare foot slightly away from Lucille. I don't think it's within his character to "break" or even pretend to, just to survive, I truly think he would die (God forbid) first.

Next week we finally get back to everyone else!

If Daryl doesn't choose Negan, he will end up with a pole through him out with the rest of the walkers. Sherry has given up and probably thinks she is doing what she has to to keep Dwight alive. Same with Dwight. He is falling in line with Negan for her. They don't see any other hope out there. Daryl, on the other hand, refuses to fall in line out of respect for Glenn. That's my take anyway.

I agree! At the beginning of the episode, I actually said, "Man, I can't wait till Darryl kills him!" By the end I was thinking, 'I can't wait till he and Darryl team up.'

Don't they team up in the Comics?

Daryl isn't in the comics, so no. Of course, since he isn't in the comics the writers can do anything with his character, not that they follow the comics word for word with the characters that are actually in them, but with Daryl they really have free range.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot he's an invented character. Which is kind of scary now as they can do to him whatever they want without "disappointing" the fans. UGH

Just watched the episode, hard to see Daryl like this but know it's heading somewhere and with the character not being in comics, we have no idea.

Actually started feeling sorry for Dwight now you see why he is doing what he does.

Someone after the season premiere episode didn't find Jeffery Dean Morgan as Negan to be an imposing character. This episode you definitely got to see his size and having him looming over Daryl with Lucille was intimidating.

I think this is all going to be a very interesting season. . . .

Umm, that video you posted -- is it just me or does the fade out of the picture make it look like he's turning into a zombie?!?

JDM was on the 90-minute special Talking Dead after the first episode, and when he walked out to greet everyone, he was very imposing and tall! [Just loved his comic how Glenn wouldn't have gotten Lucille had it not been for Daryll}

I just can't see Dwight as a sympathetic character. He went out to bring in the runner/escapee, and when he had him, he was a coward. The guy was willing to die, if Dwight was willing to do it face to face. But Dwight waited for him to turn his back.

I don't think he shot him in the back because he was a coward, I think that was when Gordon got through to him. That's when Dwight realized Gordon was better off dead, I saw it as a mercy killing. Also, shooting him in the back would make it easier on Dwight for not bringing Gordon back alive, he could say Gordon ran and wouldn't stop, he had no choice but to shoot him. So shooting Gordon in the back did help Dwight, but I really think it was done to help Gordon finally escape Negan.

Disagree. If it was a "mercy killing", he would have shot him in the head.

I think Dwight had to bring him back to Negan. So by shooting him in the back, he could say he was running from him and he had no choice but to shoot him. But he was still able to "display" him on the wall to make Negan happy. If he shot him in the head, he wouldn't have been able to bring him back for the wall and that would have angered Negan.
That was just my thought on why he shot him in the back. It was a mercy killing for Gordon (so Gordon wouldn't have to face Negan) but still saved Dwight from Negan getting upset with him for not bringing him back.

You have to remember Negan likes to make an example out of people who oppose him and run away. Had Dwight shot Gordon in the head, Negan would have known it was a mercy killing and Dwight would have suffered the consequences. I think Dwight did what was best for both of them. I could be way off on Dwight, but I think I want to wait and see before I write him off as a totally bad guy.
