Agreed! And judging by the preview for next week, it seems like that will be a Darryl-centric episode so we may have to wait another week!

Gah!! I want to see the Negan aftermath!!! But, I will PROBABLY be okay with a Darryl episode. He does not get nearly enough screen time.

Yes, she had a partner (not sure if they were married or not) and son and someone else (his brother maybe?) on the show. The poster you quoted was referring to the comics in white. Her story line on the show differs from the comics, as does Carol's.

So the show is having Carol feel she has to self punish and doesn't deserve happy relationships. What is up with Disboards? Trouble typing posts. Lagging and freezing.

All last week this site was dragging and freezing and it was miserable trying to type a full sentence. Not sure what's up with the Dis.

I know Carol got "tired of killing" last season and was burned out. But she was already hounding around because of her daughter's death, and her husband's death -- so how much longer is she going to beat herself up. I hope we see a return to the Carol that started to emerge in Alexandria before she flatlined! I'm already tired of the whiny "I don't deserve to live -- kill me" Carol!!

I actually feel for Carol, maybe because I'm a middle aged female myself . In a zombie world, a woman like Carol (or I) would have to constantly be facing death or rape (which, in some women's minds would be worse). It's an ugly truth, but it's still true. Is it so bad that she wants a little peace and quiet in her own bungalow in front of a roaring fire (that is, until the guy with the dreads and the tiger shows up ). I think she's a great balance to the uber strong guys and Michone. She has strengths and weaknesses, and is my favorite character, even when she's being wishy washy.

The sad thing is that they had a great life in Alexandria -- and Carol became little miss homemaker making cookies, etc. and I think she was settling in. Even Michonne became comfortable. I wish that storyline had lasted a little longer!

Anyone besides me had a spark of hope in the past that she and Daryl would end up together!

Rape has been brought up a couple of times. Garrett from Terminus talked about how the women in his group were raped and then there was when Rick, Carl and Michonne ran into the group Daryl was with and the one guy was either pretending to actual rape Carl or was actually going to do it which led Rick to bit the other guys throat out.

I guess if you are talking about what might happen if this was true I could see the possibility but in terms of the show, that hasn't been something that they have even really mentioned, with the exception of the two examples above.

Some interesting interpretations from the web of what Negan meant when he said, about Daryll, "You don't kill that until you a try a little"....

He wants to try and "Domesticate" him a little to see if he can be useful. In my opinion

• I think he was referring to his outburst as it related to the situation. "You dont kill that." Essentially means you shouldn't kill someone as brave as that in that kind of situation, someone who would go on a suicide mission knowing its a suicide mission. The "Not until you try a little." Basically was him saying, I want to domesticate him. Make him work for me. If it fails, then we kill him. It did come off as a bit creepy either way you interpret it though. Negan is just a comical dude. I can't wait to see him in more episodes.

Not sure what that whackadoo was doing, but he got very touchy feely with Maggie and made her remove her clothes and looked like he was going to...........then stopped!

We've only seen one episode of Negan -- but at least he is very clear about where he stands, what he wants and what his intentions are. The Governor was a real psycho-path and you never knew what he was thinking or what he would do. Heck, he shot up his own people when they didn't agree with him about going to the prison!

I just watch the show and read this thread. No comics or fan sites or any other info.

When Carol met King Ezekiel and he was talking all formal and regal and calling her "fair maiden", I really thought it was leading to that (rape). I had the clicker ready because I can handle gore but I can't handle seeing that happen to Carol.

That's right, I remember that. He bound and gagged her, took off most of her clothes (she had no shirt or bra on and was covering herself with her hands) and bent her over the table. I think he even took his belt off. Like a pp said, even though he didn't do it, every woman watching was thinking it. And terrified.

I think from a historical/ current issues perspective. During times of war, distress etc. Rape is an even more frequent occurance. The show has steered clearly largely of even implying it except with the governor and Maggie. And then Carl once.

Negan makes the Governor look like Mary Poppins of keep him anything like in the novels.

I love they kept Ezekiel's talk from the novels only it was to Michonne not Carol so nice deviation with good novel line.

Since a Zombie apocalypse isn't likely to happen, I wasn't thinking about this from a historical perspective but more of how the show has been written so far.
