The walking dead amc #2

When it first started I thought it was lame, but as the epsisode went on I got it and changed my initial lame critique. Ended up being a solid episode and I really like Ezekiel. Not sure what Carols deal is. She is annoying.

Is the pig meat tainted because they ate walkers? It seemed like they were feeding the pigs walkers for a specific purpose. They said something about filling their bellies with tainted meat. That seems like a ballsy move.

I loved that they fed the pigs tainted meat to give to the Saviors. I just wonder though if the Saviors get sick won't they put 2 and 2 together. I would love to see all the communities being terrorized by the Saviors band together, maybe refuse to feed them anymore.

I loved Carol's reaction to King Ezekiel. It was too funny because her reaction was the same as mine. WTH! lol

Carol's deal I think is that they are trying to make her Michonne from the comics and this is Michonne's issues from the comics (in white in case you don't want to know):
Michonne had 2 daughters before the ZA and she left them with their dad in order to move away for her career and when the ZA broke out she lost touch with them and presumes them dead. She feels she doesn't deserve to have good things in life or to be happy again. She wants to self punish. Also Michonne is not with Rick in the comics but she hooks up with Ezekiel.

I also thought the tainted pig meat was a ballsy move. I would NOT want to give Negan a reason to come after me. But, on the other hand, when the Kingdom people caught the pigs, they have no idea what the pigs had been eating up until that point. The pigs are scavenging like everyone else. In fact when they found the pigs they were eating a walker. I'm not sure if the meat will just make them sick, or turn them. Does anyone know?

Negans group are such jerks! I hope they kill that long haired guy from last night.

I'll be honest...I was way more upset/disturbed by the HORSE being killed in episode 1 (and another horse last season) than I was by any death or violence shown so far. In fact, I shut the show off when I saw the demise of the horse coming a mile away. That's right. I've never seen all of episode 1!

I thought of you last night when yet another horse got eaten by the zombies, and all he was doing was pulling Carol to safety on the cart. From a practicality standpoint, I have to wonder where this group found so MANY horses left alive, since zombies seem to have gotten 99.99% of them. (Although I had to chuckle when they were delivering Carol to her new home, and he said, "STAY" to the horse like it was a dog!)

LOL, my DD (who doesn't watch TWD) walked into the room when they were bringing Carol in and she was like, wow, where did they get all the horses, wouldn't they all be dead. I had to agree with her, there does seem to be an abundance of horses. Horses aren't afraid of humans, so not like they would run away if a zombie approached them.

D'oh! I blame myself for checking on my alerts in this thread lol...haven't watched the episode yet (have it DVR'd for tonight's Halloween fun!) but now I'll know to avert my eyes again! Thanks for the heads up.

What DO the writers have against horses???

I'm so sorry Jennasis, didn't know you hadn't watched it yet! If it makes you feel better, it's up and then there's a quicky jerky shot, and it's down and obviously is just a "dummy" with the zombies around it. No neighing or rearing or anything.

The rest of the horses are all very pretty and look like they eat alfalfa and have a daily bath ;).

BUT we as fans would have been royally ticked off if they hadn't adhered to the comic on this one.

I know they do not follow the comics on alot of things which I love because it is unpredictable on what will or will not happen like it did in the comic.
Those two sentences don't make sense together.

Horses would absolutely run away if something that smelled like death was coming at them making that noise. Heck, My horse spooked at a dead bird LOL! Horses would manage just fine if they managed to get free of their pastures/barns. Plenty of grass and they'll find water.

Lol, true. Was forgetting how much the walkers would smell. I hate that we have to wait until Sunday to watch again. Seems the show goes by so fast.

Yes, actually they do. . . . .as fans we would have been furious that Glenn did not die at the hands of Negan wielding Lucille as that was a pinnacle death in the comics. We knew it was supposed to happen and if they would have only taken out Abraham, fans would have been furious as this is the beginning Of Negan and the Saviours.

Loved Glenn but he had to go by Lucille

At the same time, other factors in the comics that they change the path of on the show, are not as huge of a deal.

As a fan of both, I appreciate that they don't follow the comics to an exact "t" and change it up so it leaves us wondering BUT there are some details that are way too important to veer off the original storyline. . . . . .you can appreciate the differences and embrace the things they choose to keep the same

I distinctly remember a flashback episode where it showed her with her husband and (I think) sons and maybe a brother -- and they all died. I think it was her brother and husband who were her original zombie guards, which is why she took it so hard when they were put down.

I agree. The horse in the corral and the one that Rick was on were trapped and surrounded. But if the horse if free and senses these things coming they won't hang around if they can get away.

Yes, she had a partner (not sure if they were married or not) and son and someone else (his brother maybe?) on the show. The poster you quoted was referring to the comics in white. Her story line on the show differs from the comics, as does Carol's.

While I liked the episode, I really wanted to find out what happened with our core group after the night with Negan. How they were feeling, adjusting, mourning etc.

Agreed! And judging by the preview for next week, it seems like that will be a Darryl-centric episode so we may have to wait another week!

Yes, my part in white was Michonne's story in the comics. What is

So the show is having Carol feel she has to self punish and doesn't deserve happy relationships. What is up with Disboards? Trouble typing posts. Lagging and freezing.
