The walking dead amc #2

I have no issue with a cliffhanger when done right, but this one wasn't IMO. It just felt lazy and gimmicky. I'll be watching next year though, but it has lost some of what I enjoyed most about it this season.

Are you all upset because you like the actor and don't like him being the uber bad guy? Or did the audio detail who is going to be killed?
From my perspective, it was the expected brutality with a character that has no remorse by an actor I love. More of a what's seen can not be unseen. With them not showing it I'll be good. Great love to hate character.

With hearing Kirkman's explanation I get it for why they didn't show but still think they could have shown the who and still go into the reactions next season. Just way too much anticipation and anxiety ever since Thank You to have it drawn out. I won't care as much when it does happen, as what happened when they finally showed what happened to Glenn. Will kinda hope for spoilers leaked when they start shooting again soon, at least of the who's still shooting and who may not be at the time.

Some people can be seen as way too invested in sports, Disney (and Disney message boards), music, fashion, and a host of many other leisurely activities. Who cares?

Thanks for the typo correction, much appreciated.

You could not tell who was killed from the audio.

It was just soooooo chilling. The voice, the tone, the whole thing. Like I said before, it may have been because you could only hear it and had to use your imagination. It really put you in the situation, I felt like I was kneeling before Negan waiting to get Lucilled and there was no way out. My heart was pounding and I was absolutely terrified. It was that scary. Most of the comments of people who listened to it were the same. I am actually starting to get nervous! LOL!!

Nor could you tell who was killed from watching the whole 90-minute finale! So disappointed!

Some of you are way too invested in a tv show.

Ya think?!?!?

Eh I just see it as a discussion like anything else. People read a bad book and swear off the author and tell people why at their book club, people watch their favorite team lose the big game and vow to change team loyalty to forget it all next season and cheer them on again and others have brought up the whole wdw changes issues that brings out strong emotions. I find it fun to discuss and hash it out. Swearing off a show isn't being too invested, more like just being really disappointed. When you invest your time in a book, movie, tv show, vacation, sports team and are disappointed in the end results it is normal to vent and since this is a discussion of that show its the perfect place to vent/ share your reactions. It is kinda the same as saying you're too invested in this thread and taking peoples posts too seriously.

I like TWD, and enjoyed a lot of this season. It would have to be really, really bad for me to stop watching. :teeth: However, this last episode was so disappointing w/ all the driving around going nowhere.

Did anybody else find themselves wishing the Savior guy would have just shot Carol in the head already and put her out of our misery? A great character that the writers just ruined.

Glad I don't read the Graphic novels, and I do try to avoid any mentions of them here. Good example is Negan. There was such a build up on here, I expected a lot more and it was disappointing.

But, I will still continue to watch, I still think it is was of the best shows on TV.

Yes, I was almost hoping the Savior would kill Carol. It was like she is a shell of her former self.

I was also disappointed with the build up of Negan. He did not seem quite as intimidating on camera as he did on he audio. On the audio, it was much more scary, at the end of the audio all you heard was our group screaming screams of terror and horror while the unfortunate one was bludgeoned to death. For some reason on the show last night, you did not hear the screaming and horror. There was a little, but not like the audio that was leaked.

I was in bed with a 102 fever watching the show and I never felt any dread only WHAT are they doing driving around- and annoyance. thought it was the fever making me feel "bleh" about the finale but sounds like it really is "bleh". Will have to rewatch.

It would have generated more buzz and discussion and anguish to SHOW who got the Lucille treatment. Instead when I saw the hashtag
"who is it" all I could think of is they are going for a gimmick. Reminded me of "Who shot JR?" - only that cliffhanger worked as it was unexpected. At this point I think several of them could die just to get the show moving again.

DH did the slow mo thing and swears it is Eugene who met Lucille

I love JDM, so it was going to take some really horrible acting on his part to make this a bad episode for me.

I haven't read the comics, but from this group, I understand Negan is supposed to be super scary, but also charismatic. I think we got the charismatic piece last night - seems like a personable, affable guy - and underneath is this terribly sick, sinister excuse for a human being, who takes joy in beating people to death. We saw a glimpse of that before it faded to black.

I, for one, am looking forward to Season 7.

My DH thinks that the cast probably doesn't know who was killed. They can't accidently reveal it during an interview if they don't know. Maybe they filmed 4 or 5 different people being killed...

One thing I am wondering is how they mobilized all those people and blocked the road with the trees/walkers. How did they know ricks group would be out there and that guy they killed was part of the library group....so was it just a coincidence?

I don't think they filmed anyone being killed. It was shot in a way that didn't require any of the cast to actually be there.

I agree with others that the show was sort of bleh. I think if they would have made it an hour, it would have been much better and wouldn't have had so much of them just driving around.

As far as the cliffhanger, well shows having been doing that for ages, of course I would have liked to know who got Luicelled, plus the hiatus for this show is much longer than regular shows. So I think a cliffhanger of this magnitude may backfire on them as people may just lose interest after having to wait 6 months. I do wonder if possibly Dwight got Lucielled, of course wishful thinking on my part, but you never know.

I just have to mention I thought the scene between Eugene and Abraham was just awesome, I literally had a lump in my throat watching it. It really would have been a homerun if they would have let Eugene come through instead of being captured, but unfortunately I'm not a writer of the show lol.

Some are suggesting that maybe the writers haven't decided who it should be (who got Lucille'd). How wimpy. Just do it for goodness sakes.

Now, though, I am thinking it's Maggie. Negan did say that he needs them alive to work for him and Maggie is clearly sick and might be a liability as far as working for him. Plus, maybe that's why the fade to black and not showing us. Then they can come back in season 7 premier and just show the aftershock. If they showed a man (Negan) beating a woman (sick and pregnant Maggie) with a bat, the viewers would go nuts and NOT in a good way, I would think. My money is now on Maggie. We should do a poll.

All of this talk about Carol reminds me of the hate for Carl a few years ago. The thing I like the most about TWD is that they portray the characters realistically. Carl was a young teen doing what young teens do...being angsty, belligerent and difficult...which was only heightened because of the terrible circumstances in which he found himself and the awful things that he had to see/do. So many posters said "I hate Carl." and "I wish they would just kill Carl off." I didn't understand that then and don't understand it now with Carol.

Carol is a woman who is having a moral crisis. I think that would be very common in the world in which she finds herself. You do what you have to do in the moment, but in the quiet calm you process what you have done. I think it was "easy" for her when they were just killing walkers, but now they are killing people and that has affected her. I also think that being in Alexandria hasn't helped. The old normal has been put right in front of her with the Alexandria community and it has made her process exactly how much the world has changed. Personally, I think Carol's struggle is completely appropriate and I think I would be very much like her in that world.

I thought the discussion about the two groups on TTD was interesting last night. Kirkman said that if he had been telling the story of Negan all along, instead of Rick, when Rick showed up everyone would hate him. The two groups really are the same. We've come to like our group and accept what they have had to do to survive, but they have done awful things as well...things that are morally questionable.

I think I am more disappointed that I typed up this whole post with my thoughts and comments and when I hit "post reply" it said I was not logged in, so did not post it. Ah well. I was probably reading to much
into it anyway.
