The walking dead amc #2

Days are numbered for a *lot* of people by the time the next season ends or once the season after that begins. This next episode isn't going to be a shakeup of *nearly* the scope that is coming. Not. Even. Close.
Hmmm...such a teaser. Now I will be asking my DD (who has read the comics but doesn't like to tell me spoilers) what this is all about.

What are everyone's thoughts on the guy Rick and Morgan encountered at that farm who yelled that he was looking for his horse??? Was that a savior or another group we haven't seen yet---spolier-ish in white---> (a group DD told me about because she is very excited to see someone with a rather odd pet...large exotic pet).

On "Talking Dead," they mentioned a character named (highlight for spoiler text) Ezekiel (from the comics) in relation to the guy Rick & Morgan saw at the farm, & Chris Hardwick mentioned something (highlight for spoiler text) about wondering how they would introduce his pet if the guy really was Ezekiel.

My 3 biggest disappointments from last night:

1) The direction they are taking Carol's character. I absolutely did not care if she was killed off in early seasons as I felt she was a waste of a character at first. But then came Bada** Carol and I absolutely love her. She is one of my favorites and I don't want to lose her either due to her death or due to whatever all this psychologically conflicted stuff they are doing now is.

2) I cannot even begin to say how disappointed I am with Morgan's character. I was so stoked to see him finally on the show full time and they decided to make him all "make love, not war" during a zombie apocolypse. I see his "full circle" babble being a lot of unnecessary deaths that come full circle due to his wanting to spare lives to redeem the unredeemable.

3) My biggest disappointment was when Maggie cut her hair, pretty much squashing my hopes that she is Lucille's victim. Darn it.

I am not sure who will die now. I'm thinking Glenn, Michonne, Judith, or Rosita are likely...but for big "devastating" deaths, I don't really consider Rosita's death to be enough to qualify in that camp.

Then you're going to *hate* Rick later.

It's all in the comics. The Saviors are *not* the worst people out there. The next group, especially their leader, terrifies me. It's a deep, visceral unease and fear that is hard to describe but we all know the feeling. The game *completely* changes.

Are you talking about the jail cell? If so, I read the spoilers on that. I think that will also be due to Morgan on the show. He got in Carol's head. I think he's getting inside Rick's or will for that anyway. And people will die as a result. As much as I wanted to love Morgan, I see him causing more harm than good at this point. It would take a lot for me to hate Rick though. Frustrated or irritated with him is a definite possibility though (such as when he had his moment of peaceful Farmer Dad Rick and made me want to shake him lol.)

I saw that too and wonder if that might be true. I should read the comics but then I'd be so irked at the show for not following the comics like I get irked at the GoT show. Best I don't read or know what was supposed to be.

I thought the next group was peaceful? The guy with the interesting pet? No?

No. The next real group. I don't count peaceful communities as "groups" when it comes down to it. The ones I speak of are not the peaceful type. They're the type you don't see coming until it's too late. Well, you see them coming but what's coming is not what you think it is. The next enemy makes Negan seem like a Boy Scout with a complete set of intact morals.

I'm like that with GoT and Outlander and most other book-to-screen adaptations, every little difference irks me. But for some reason TWD is different. I guess because they've made it so different right from the start that it is almost like two separate narratives of the same timeline/catastrophe rather than merely an inaccurate adaptation of the original.

It's why I won't read Outlander either. I heard that it differs from the book and irks book readers. But yet I can't wait for the next season so i want to read (though we're almost to Outlander season premier...and GoT :yay:).

I've read both outlander and GOT and think both adaptations are good. Sometimes I think they missed something here or there, but think they have kept the integrity of the books in tact and usually I am very critical of book adaptations.

Any chance Carl is going to swoop in and save Daryl? They showed him briefly getting a gun in the armory. Maybe he followed Daryls group?

That could very well be...or at least he'll try. But Carl, Rick, Maggie, Abe and Enid will all likely end up with the rest of the group because they are all at the Lucille meeting. I suspect Rick will rush Maggie off to the DR at hilltop (the OB DR) and Enid will go. Maybe Carl sneaks off after Daryl and Abe goes after him.

Rick held up one of the spears the guy had after he ran away and said it was one of Hilltop's. Earlier in the episode, I believe he mentioned the Saviors were stealing weapons from Hilltop, so we can surmise the guy at the farm was a Savior.

Are spoilers on this thread not posted with the Spoiler tab anymore?

I think it was just a courtesy agreed upon by frequent posters to this thread, and that discussion is now several pages back. If new posters or infrequent visitors come to the thread, they wouldn't necessarily know there is a spoiler button or that some consider comic details to be spoilers. If it's going to be a hard and fast rule, perhaps the thread originator should update the original post and subject line so it's clear.

I thought he said the Saviors GOT weapons from the Hilltop, like in part of their agreement to not kill them. This guy could have taken one off a dead body or traded with Hilltop as well.

Oh he could have, I don't recall. Maybe I assumed the Saviors stole it from them since the Saviors are bad and Hilltop seem like pushovers. LOL!

My initial thought was that I did think the guy was a Savior because I think them finding the spear after him saying that earlier was supposed to show us that. Plus it reaffirms to Rick (and Morgan) that there are more Saviors out there than they expected, and they're essentially everywhere, putting Rick & Co. even more on edge for an attack. BUT, all that being said, why was the guy alone and hiding in the farm? So he could have just found it or taken it which would make sense if it ends up being what was talked about on Talking Dead.

I can't figure out how to use the spoiler button, so I will type in white. Highlight if you want to see. It's spoiler/rumor of what happens at the end, not who is killed.

I read a rumor that it will end in a cliffhanger. I really hope this is not true. I can see doing this for a regular episode, but for the finale??? I would be really mad. What I read happens is that Negan has everyone lined up on their knees then he says he has to kill someone. He does the "who should I kill?" thing and then the camera view goes to the person who is going to be killed looking up at Negan and then we see the bat coming and it fades to black and we don't know was killed.
