Today is first day of september and starting it off right with Sunshine


I got the scratch off on the 2nd try and just completed a Daily survey

I'm glad you started out good on Sunshine. I didn't. I have been trying off and on all day, this morning, this afternoon and just a little while ago but I can not get a daily or otx, not as me or DH, grrrr. It's back to work tomorrow so won't be up late enough for the scratch off tonight.

yeah ive been tired and not feeling like driving at all.. last night Josh and his dad and I went to Clearlake cuz mom and dada got them tickets to see kiss.. so I hung around with mom and dad while they were at the show then came home with them.

well the good news is I still have power (knock on wood) but the bad news is our CABLE went out! UGH! No more news!

I'll have to rely on the internet. (Hopefully we don't lose IT) I wonder if there are any stations that broadcast over the net live.

I got drunk and played Texas Hold em last night and was up til 4 am....it was SO much fun. I placed second (out of 5)...not too shabby.

It's just windy and rainy out here so far....no train sounds yet

Glad to hear you have power Cheri and no real problems! I don't know if any stations broadcast live over the internet but I know you can watch tv shows on Lifetime and FX that have already aired, it's better than nothing or throw a DVD in your computer and watch a movie, better than nothing.

I hope you don't hear any train sounds, that would be terrible. Just keep letting us know you are okay!!!

Sharky, very crazy to do the mall on the weekend before school starts. I couldn't figure out what my Mom was thinking Saturday morning wanting to go to the mall, but it wasn't so bad but our schools started August 18.

Hi all.

I got into contact with LeeLee as I was worried about her.

Her life has been crazy busy.

B has had a virus, stomach bug that he is trying to kick. Then her and her dh were luck enough to get it. Tyler was spared

School started and new teacher was not familiar with the help B would need, so they are working with her to get it all worked out

Her dh has been in the hospital. I believe he is out now, but not doing great.

So can we please keep him in our prayers

kind of pissed off right now. Just heard that Ike is now a Tropical storm and will probably be a catagory 3 hurricane by the time it hits the U.S. It BETTER not mess with my vacation!!!

It looks, hopefully, like it will stay south of Florida and just hit Cuba and the islands, I hope!!! Will be keeping my eye on it too Carla! Let's keep good thoughts

I am so glad I live in California. We may have earthquakes but I will take them over hurricanes and tornados.

haha! I think it's whatever we're used to. I'd rather take a hurricane over an earthquake. At least those are predictable and you have time to get out of harms way. With tornadoes and earth quakes....those are less predictable. But I think I'd rather have to bunker down in a basement to try and get away from a tornado than bunker down and wait to be swallowed by the earth Earth quakes really freek me out...but like I said....it's really whatever you're used to that you can handle. Hurricanes don't really bother me much since I grew up with them. I just don't want it to rain the whole time im at WDW.

You're right about it being what you are used to. We went in December one year to Disneyland once and it rained and the place emptied out. You could ride on whatever you wanted no line it was actually pretty nice.

I agree with you all, it's all in what you are used to and what you grew up with. Earthquakes though, they petrify me. I mean a whole building can fall down on your, so that just freaks me out

I'm equally freaked out by a tornado as well, at least though you have a chance of getting a warning on a tornado. If I have to choose I choose the hurricane but frankly want to live somewhere that have none of the above.

I don't mind some rain and as you said, at the parks if you have some rain you can put on your ponch and get on all the rides and usually there aren't any long lines. So as long as the rain is mild it's not a big deal, just no heavy down pours and high winds, no hurricanes, that's forbidden in the world!!!!

You got the water, now get lots of non-perishable foods that you can eat without cooking....bread, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, fruit, etc. Be sure you have flashlights and lots of batteries and a battery powered radio. If you have a grill, make sure you have plenty of propane and you may want to get a five gallon container of gas it seems the gas stations canrun out if you are evacuating, just be prepared and if they tell you that you should leave, leave!!!! Go see Sharky in NJ or go inland and see Carla in GA.
