The View - anyone watching?

Joy and Elizabeth did not say that Building 7 was brought down by a controlled explosion. Joy and Elizabeth did not say that it is the first time that Fire melted Steel. (Speculation is that the lower floor reinforced support columns welds failed after 7 Hours of Fire). Joy and Elizabeth did not say Gulf of Tonkin Google it. Rosie has let loose a tirade of lies regarding the above subjects. When someone tries to present their view, Rosie doesn't listen and discounts them with the simple statements your wrong, Your too Young and the likes of that. I used to find her at least funny even though, I didn't agree with her view. However after that last show, I find her to be Vile and Hatefull. She is so Anti Bush and His Administration that she will say anything to bring them down. She plays loose with with information that is not researched or substantiated. She just throws it out there to support her hate.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I couldn't agree with this post more!

Maybe when Rosie gets to the bottom of the 9/11 conspiracy she can help OJ find the real killer.

I used to love watching the View, Meredith was great and I didn't even mind Star that much, now it is just unwatchable. I get stressed just seeing it for 2 seconds.

We may be watching the same show, but we are seeing it differently. I think Elizabeth goes on and on sometimes and talks over people and says things she can't prove. Example, her defense of the patriot act. There are times when they all talk over each other, times when Joy talks the most, times when Elizabeth does. I think we all view it from our own perspectives.

As others have said, that is why it is call "The View".

I didn't say anything about who talks over who. That will happen on any discussion panel with more than one person. It has to deal with what Rosie Said with regards to the WTC#7 and the British Hostage Situation. This thread has primarly dealt with that. I agree they all talk over each other. But Rosie has told Elizabeth to Stop Blabbering and You are to young. I seemed to miss this type of training in my years on the debate club.

On today's program, a repeat from a few weeks ago, Joy Behar stated loud and clear, that the entire Bush bunch should be jailed as impeachment takes too long. Where is the outrage? Maybe we should start a new thread? :rolleyes1

I think someone else answered that question a while back;..... because Joy is not very wealthy, fat, gay, or an activist. Some people seem to have issues with at least one from that list.

:) Well she is active with the Democratic party so......let's see..which of the others do you think it is? :cool2:

Well, if you can find a thread here expressing outrage over a "very wealthy, fat, gay, activist" for simply expressing an opinion that Bush should be jailed, then you might have a point. The difference in saying that Bush's policies are worthy of jail time versus making an accusation (either directly or by implication) that Bush was an actual conspirator in the murder of thousands of American civilians on 9/11 and/or is in a conspiracy with Tony Blair to trigger a justification to invade Iran is more than a little nuanced. If people like Bill Maher had made such comments (and he's been in the ballpark a few times), he'd be blasted just as hard... and he has. In fact he lost a job at ABC (Rosie's network) because of a dust-up over one comment of his and, the last time I checked, Maher isn't a "very wealthy, fat, gay, activist".

Or could it just be Rosie's demeanor nowadays that completely turns people off from her? I know that Rosie is a nice person - to me, there's no doubt about that. However, to me, there is a distinct difference in the way Rosie "fights her battles" and the way Joy does. Granted, I don't watch the show...I just delve into the youtube clips whenever there is a "controversy," but I don't think that Joy is as abrasive as Rosie. And then there will be those that say Elisabeth is just as off-puttish (<---not really a word there ;) ). However, I counter that by stating that as the only conservative on the panel, she feels that she needs to "fight" all the battles that on the other "democratic side" can get shared by the rest of the women.

Okay...seriously...I cannot believe that I'm commenting on The View...;)

I'm merely commenting on why some might find her so polarizing. I have no desire to debate GWB in this thread at all. If you want to, feel free.

Sure she is, and way more sarcastic too. Granted, this is a fairly new demeanor for Joy. She really hasn't been that political until a year or so ago.

Apparently, you missed my point. Let me draw a parallel... A couple of months ago Ann Coulter made some outrageous comments about John Edwards' "manliness". I'm going to guess that there was a least one outrage filled thread here on the topic of the over-the-top things that she said. The reaction wasn't based that the fact that Coulter is a "strong willed woman", or because she's "outspoken", or because she's an "activist". The reaction was due to the nature of what she said. Who Coulter is runs a distant second to the substance of what she said. Any efforts to minimize criticism of Ann Coulter's comments as being mainly rooted in her physical and personal characteristics, is just as silly and demonstrably false as trying to claim that the only reason people are worked up over Rosie's "Gulf of Tokin" and "WTC7" comments before a national audience is because she's a female, "gay", "fat", "very wealthy", "an activist" (or any combination thereof).

I get your point, but the fact is, Rosie is called those things constantly. I have read them here on the many, many, many Rosie threads started on this board since she joined The View. I've heard them IRL. I've heard them from the media, and also from Rosie herself complaining about it. That's all I'm trying to say here. I've heard it too often for it to be an isolated fluke from just a few. Donald Trump himself called her a fat, ugly, pig. I believe there are a lot of people out there that agree with him.

I love the fact that you think she is powerful enough to bring him down!
