My daughter ask a this morning WHERE IS THE DISNEY VAULT that they keep the MOVIES LOCKED UP AT????? ANY help out there with this question.

I assume you are referring to the TV commercials for re-released classic Disney movies where they say "they're going back to the vault?"

But you can tell your daughter that they are here - in Boyers, PA. Disney does (or did) store some archival material at the Iron Mountain facility here.

There is no vault; it is just an expression when they decide to end the public sale of a movie and it "goes back into the vault." It just means they are no longer releasing the movie for sale.

It is a great marketing ploy to get you to purchase the movie, since you will only be able to get it for a specific amount of time.

After it goes back into the "vault", you would have to go to a third party who may have purchased several copies and was offering it for sale at that time. I did that a few years ago over amazon.com.

There is a Disney warehouse in SoCal that is kept underwraps. You can just tell her the movies go there It has lots of vintage costumes, toys, props, scripts, original Mickey stuff. Can't imagine all thats there. I believe only VIP's get in there.

Though this post was from years ago, there is a disney vault. Like previously stated it is in Boyers, PA at Iron Mountain. It is an old limestone mine that has been converted into a high security area for storing all sorts of confidential and priceless documents and items. Several people I know work there as I grew up in the area. If there is another disney vault I am not sure, but there is definitely one at this location.
