The upside to QSFB?

Hey, all. I'm going to be hanging out with a friend tonight who was also accepted for the CP. She's got less than a week left to accept her invitation, and is still sort of undecided. :confused3

One of the big factors in her indecision is her uncertainty about doing QSFB, which was the role she was offered. I really think this program would be a great thing for her, and so I want to be able to point out some good things about working QSFB.

Obviously there's the higher pay scale, but what other good things do people have to say about the role? It can't be all bad. What are some advantages of QSFB over other roles?

My roommate works quick service. She's met a ton of great people there, and she makes the most out of all of us due to the amount of overtime she is allowed to work. She averages around $300/week after rent! It's really easy to give away your shifts in that role so if you ever want the day off, just ask around and there are apparently a ton of people willing to pick it up.

I worked QSFB and there are so many upsides to it. For one, there are so many different assignments within each restaurant that you get moved around a lot during the day and are hardly bored.
You get to know your co-workers really well also. You are working as such a tight and efficient team that it's hard not to.
It's also very easy to pick up extra hours or (in most cases, but not all) to give away/trade shifts since there are so many qsfb locations and they're all similar.

I think your friend would have lot of fun if she tried out the program. :)

I worked QSFB before (and may be again for the summer alumni program if they ever get back to me!) and it's really what you make of it. Yes, there's going to be some bad days with some lame guests. But that happens with every role! I worked with amazing people and it made the day so much better. You make more money than the other roles and the options for working hours are a lot better. Shifts can easily be given away and you can easily take on more shifts. I was able to work at almost all the parks by picking up extra hours. Is it the most glamorous role? No. But it can still be a lot of fun and an incredible working experience. And people always comment on the fact that I worked at Disney World when they see my resume. They don't care that I worked quick service instead of attractions or whatever, they just care that I worked at this amazing company.

Thanks for all the input, guys. This is just the kind of stuff I was looking for. Please, keep 'em coming! :thumbsup2

I did QSFB last summer. Some upsides (for me, anyway) were the location (I worked at Casey's Corner), the costume, the people I worked with, the guest interaction, and the premimum- just to name a few.
