If you haven't already bought your Christmas Presents you may want to know what the best/worst things to buy this christmas are. Hence why I set up this thread so DISers could tell us all what the ideal presents are.

Here I go. Best things to buy this Christmas are:

1) The Nintendo Wii. It's going to be big this year, and at a cheap price for an item in such demand it is a good thing to keep video gamers going until march when the PS3 comes out. Or you could just keep it anyway.. :teeth:

2) Cybermen helmet. This is definetely going to be one for kiddies (as well as me.. :lmao: ) this year, except maybe in Johnny's household.. ;)

3) Disney DVDs. They have always been a good buy, and there are a lot of DVDs that came out recently, such as The Little Mermaid or Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

Bad things to buy this Christmas are:

1) Bullseye Interactive DVD. It is so bug ridded that you get something like 2 when you aim for triple 20. Although, there are other interactive DVDs that you could get instead, such as the James May car DVD game that recently came out. We would get it except my brother would very clearly win.. :)

That's all I can think of, but I may add more onto it later. :)

James May car game? I've not heard of that one! *goes to look it up*

I hope I find Captain Jack Sparrow in my Christmas stocking - if not then PotC2 would be perfect :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Just after Christmas a couple of years ago, my mum said that she had a pressie that she'd forgotten to give me - imagine how gutted I was to find a pack of 3 tea towels in the parcel

So mums, don't buy tea towels for your daughters for Christmas :thumbsup2

To the good pile I'd add books about Walt Disney and Theme parks, and definitely agree on Disney DVD's, Malt Whisky, red wine :goodvibes

To the bad pile... anything green, jumpers, cardigans, socks (apart from black), mugs with silly captions on them, toiletry sets, ornaments, anything from M&S (don't ask, long story), chocolates, slippers, blended whisky :guilty:

Oh grief that is a bad one Mandy, still I don't think it quite beats me. When I was about 14, my grandad gave me the "Encyclopedia of British Steam Trains"! He thought I'd like it as I liked to go trainspotting. Of course that was with my dad, when I was 4!!! He was always about 10 years behind bless!

Oh dear, that is a stinker :)

We have 'regifted' 3 of the items that my Dad gave us last year -

DH's Nan's Fiance at 80-something loved the M&S china tankard and socks set (featuring steam trains)

DH's Nan liked the county-cottages notelets I rejected (Apart from the fact they were grim, I make my own cards)

I think my cousin's 10 year old son will have fun with the voice recording pen - not something I'd imediately think of buying for a 30-something SAH Mum!

:confused3 Almost tempted to tell him not to buy us anything this year - oh hold on I told him that last year :lmao: When he insisted I suggested gift tokens :rotfl:

It's great the way shops put their tat together in a gift set and watch the aunties buy it for the unsuspecting :rotfl:

When I was younger (and in fact, it still happens to me unfortunately) I used to get football related stuff from some of our relatives who think that we are football obsessed. Yeah, just about everyone in the family EXCEPT me! So most years I get some football book I have no interest in which I just end up giving to my brother..

I would of loved the Steam train book!! :goodvibes When I was younger I was Thomas the Tank Engine obsessed so anything to do with Steam engines always fansinated me. In fact, they still do. :)

Thank you Thomas the Tank Engine!! :teeth:

I hate anything for the house, boring!

DBF mum always gets me old lady presents, she brought me a tissue holder last year, I was 23 not 93, I don't even think that she would use one!

my mum is getting me an I Pod this year, though it is my birthday present as well which is in January.

Diane and her sisters got floral aprons last year from their auntie for when they are cleaning the house. She made them open the parcel at the same time. "She wanted to see the delight in their faces". I had to leave the room :rotfl: :rotfl:
