Make a couple of holes in the brim next to your head and run some kind of cord around it that you can tie around your chin? Also, anyone have any tips for keeping a large, foam, and very shallow cowboy hat on your head for the 5k? it's too shallow for a fabric headband, and too wide for a "traditional" headband unless i glued it to the top, and I'm not sure it would hold....
This is also my goal, and I legitimately have decision fatigue at this point trying to figure out a top and/or accessories. The terrible thing is that I'm pretty sure that my 10k outfit is my most comfortable at this point, unless it's freezing out.The goal for the marathon is fabulous but comfortable!
Feel free to reject this but I saw a cute idea on Facebook of shirts that say “Genovia Running Club.” What if we got tech shirts from that company @DopeyBadger recommended to match our Dotties and had X (insert something Disney here) Running Club printed on them? I might be able to do a cute design in Canva? This is also my goal, and I legitimately have decision fatigue at this point trying to figure out a top and/or accessories.
I saw that post too and it sounds absolutely adorable! I am trying really hard to keep the price down at this point since I am on the verge of going from "I over-spent" to "Oh crap. This is bad" on my costumes.Feel free to reject this but I saw a cute idea on Facebook of shirts that say “Genovia Running Club.” What if we got tech shirts from that company @DopeyBadger recommended to match our Dotties and had X (insert something Disney here) Running Club printed on them? It shouldn't be too difficult for a tailor to open the side seams and put in a stretchy panel on each side if there isn't room in the seam allowance to make it big enough. My 5k and 10k MW costumes arrived and I love them but am low key sad because the tops are too tight. They were made by someone in Ireland so it’s not exactly easy to get them fixed by that person.not sure what to do except go see a tailor I guess.
I LOVE this!! Don't overthink the details. People are going to get the costume if your hair is up or down, so wear it however is most comfortable. So I want this to be a surprise but I also want advice so I guess just forget the surprise. Which day I wear each costume depends on weather because one is technically a suit.
A suit!? Yup. I am doing a Belle x Cher from Clueless crossover. It is awesome. I know I am going to add white socks— do y’all think I should get over the knee socks to match the film or just calf compression socks because running? I am also going to carry a fluffy pen that looks like a rose and make a sign that it a speech bubble and says “Madame Gaston!? As if!” I also think I need to wear my hair down… hmmm.
OMG Megara is my GIRL! Leg warmers would be too warm for me but I love the thought. I wonder if there are sublimated print calf sleeves that would give that look but without the bulk? I would go big on jewelry -- big plastic and rubber colorful bracelets on both arms, big crazy shaped earrings (maybe tie the shapes into Hercules, like lightning bolts or Pegasus?). A banana clip in your hair? Or a side pony with scrunchies? The other one is like a Mousercize Megara. I need neon purple shorts to go under it and am going to get purple leg warmers. Any other accessories people think would be fun to add? I need to do something with the hair here too…
Comfort is king for the marathon for sure. Again, don't overthink the details. People will get it without sacrificing comfort. For the marathon, my plan is to wear my Dottie rainbow connection skirt but I haven’t chosen a top yet. I will bring my Crowned Sally leggings as backup in case it is cold or raining probably. The goal for the marathon is fabulous but comfortable!

UA has 40% off outlet this weekend and I'm currently trying to decide if this shirt is "nice" enough for this skirt, or if the heathered colors make it look too casual. I have already run a marathon in this shirt in a different color...

OH! I cannot wait to see it!!(I have my own vinyl design that I'm putting on all my race shirts but could find a way to do both if it made sense.)
I find it pretty but it is true that the skirt is hard to match with the various texture and colors. If this shirt is comfortable for a marathon then, I’d say yes.I saw that post too and it sounds absolutely adorable! I think that all sounds brilliant! Combining Anger and Donald is just too perfectI guess I should reveal my idea. It might be too complicated, so call me on this if I'm doing too much.
I was thinking about how the emotions in Inside Out correspond to the emotions we go through doing Dopey. You start out scared that you won't be able to do it, then sad that there are so many more miles to run, angry that you've done three races and you're still not halfway through the mileage, disgusted that you've gotten up so early to do this for 4 mornings in a row, and finally joy for having accomplished the whole thing. So I'm mashing up those emotions with the characters from each race theme:
5K: Fear/Pluto -- Sublimated print Fear tech shirt, denim look Bolder skirt, Pluto dog collar, dog ears and dog tail
10K: Sadness/Chip & Dale -- Sweater print tech shirt, blue Bolder skirt, chipmunk ear headband, brown arm sleeves and leggings (or compression calf sleeves if it's hot), chipmunk tail, oversize round glasses, blue hair
Half: Anger/Donald -- Sublimated print tech Anger tech shirt, duck tutu/feather skirt with yellow ribbon, duck tail, yellow calf sleeves, Anger light-up headband
Full: Disgust changes to Joy -- Using lightweight layers to start as Disgust, with the green vest, skirt and leggings or calf sleeves, pink scarf and green wig. All that would be over a Joy dress (I found the pattern on Spoonflower and ordered in tech fabric). At the castle, I'll grab a pic as Disgust then ditch those layers to turn into Joy. (I'm literally dying my hair blue and already have the haircut!) We're staying at BLT so DH will be at MK or GF to grab the castoffs from me.
I'm making the Full costumes myself and don't really have the mashup element planned out yet, so could use some advice on incorporating the mice. I bought fabric paint and was going to add Mickey ear shapes to both clothing patterns and possibly the scarf, and obviously I could do a generic ear headband. Is that enough?
So where the vinyl comes in is I'd like to have some kind of graphic on the back of every costume shirt that kind of explains what I'm doing with the emotions. Maybe a series of tick boxes that lay out the races, like this? Then each day, one more box is ticked?
x 5K: Filled with Fear
x 10K: Sad so many miles to go
x Half: Angry this isn't even halfway yet
x Full: Start in Disgust from the early wakeup calls
x ...End in Joy that you did Dopey!
I could also include illustrations of the characters on it somehow. I just don't want it to get too complicated.
So tell me honestly, am I doing to much with the mashups? Does it make sense? I'm looking for constructive criticism but also any thoughts or ideas you all have! I still need to create and apply the graphic to all the shirts and make the layered Disgust/Joy costumes for the full. I have most of the other elements purchased but it's not too late to make some adjustments.

That sounds very ambitious and very fun! I especially love the Anger / Donald combo since Donald is short-tempered!I guess I should reveal my idea. It might be too complicated, so call me on this if I'm doing too much.
