The unofficial waiting to make Be Our Guest ADRs thread-8/20 7am

Noon??!!! I am actually off work on Monday, but traveling. Will have to see how I can work this out.

I personally don't understand why they are setting it at noon. When it is at 7, the phone lines all open at the same time. If they are really doing it at noon, can you call in at 11:57 and get in queue? Will they not take the reservation at 11:58 and tell you to call back? It seems like chaos to me!:headache:

I'm going to try and call early maybe by 5-10 minutes because of hold times, plus there is two reservations that I need to adjust so hopefully by then it'll be noon and I'll already be on the phone with a CM.

As far as the noon start time, I also found this information.

We open from 7am-10pm Eastern Standard Time. I'm not quite sure if the system will be updated the moment we open that's just why we let our guest know to call by noon.

Think I will start calling around 6am.

I think we'll just try for a CS meal here...I want to eat at BOG, but I'm not sure my family wants to give up WCC for the menu that they are currently broadcasting for BOG. I might be able to persuade one person of my party to eat here for lunch. Ugh...those lines are going to be horrendous for sure :rolleyes2

Ok, so let me get this right......

We can begin making ADRs on Monday Aug. 20th at 12:00 Noon? What a strange time frame..... I'll be at Disney, in a park with no computer but a cell phone, so I guess I'll be standing in a line for a ride making an ADR. Well that's one I've never done before, well at least not for an upcoming trip. But what gets me, is how long will I have to be on hold waiting for a CM, sounds like a huge waste of minutes. I guess I could go to Guest Relations.....

The 20th works for me. :) I'm not liking the noon timeframe though. It's the 1st day of school, I'd have already been up early...

Have we even seen a full menu and prices yet?? Shouldn't that come before I make a reservation to eat somewhere? :confused3

I sorta doubt we will see one. when Via Napoli opened we found out what was on the menu as people ate there during the preview openings

What to do, what to do. Was hoping for a menu so I could show DH that there will be something he would eat. Might just try for an ADR and he can get a burger at Pecos Bills afterwards. DB and I will enjoy it anyway. :thumbsup2

We aren't going until January and i'd like to go to Be Our Guest on Tuesday 15th Jan.

Originally i was thinking of going for lunch, but do you think the lines will be ridiculous? Should i book for dinner instead?

xx

Is noon weirding out anyone else? As in, I will probably still wake up when lines open at 7 to check. If only it was 7 for me, and not 4. Ugh. Btw thanks for posting

Totally-- DW will be off, so going to see if she is able to get them, but I wouldnt it have been a better idea to start taking them on the 19th (Sunday), rather than a "normal" work/school day ? (understanding that many people work on Sunday as well)

Just a bit odd--- and noon????

Whether they say noon or not, I will be on the phone at 6:55am just in case. Did they say anything about the time zone?

I don't think their goal is to start when as many people as possibe can call in. Quite the opposite I would imagne.

There is no menu yet, but there was some mentioning of some items that may be on the menu in the disney parks blog I believe. Don't have time to find the link...anyone have it? It was earlier in this thread. I remember reading about a cupcake for dessert which I thought was a bit strange for an elegant restaurant..but I'm sure there will be other choices.

If that were their goal they'd open it up for online reservations the same day, wouldn't they? MANY less calls that way and we would have a fighting chance. I cant take the day off just to sit for an hour on hold... Im using my vacation days for the TRIP. If this is the game WDW plays I will understand in the future that it's a game my family will always lose. Very disappointing indeed!

Jealous this works out better for all the lucky stay at homes and work from homes!

Very true--- I think the noon "start" time might just be throwing me off (more than the Monday thing) --- I will start calling by 2am ! :))

Sleep overrated anyway !!

I hope for your sake that they throw in a surprise at the last minute. To be honest I wouldn't expect any of this to roll out as posted so far. I still think their best bet is to just quietly start taking ADRs prior to any time announced so it will "slowly" leak out.

I thorougly expect to log into the DIS one day soon to a post saying things are up and running.

This of course is based on absolutely nothing but my own selfish desires and wishful thinking! :rotfl:
