The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2006

um Ok I didn't know that it had a website, Any chance someone would be kind enough to provide me a link to it?

UG is the best! First trip we went as a family I trusted DW to lead us around because she had been before but never again. I bought the book after we got back and was amazed at all of the stuff that we did wrong and then understood why we didn't see much.

I buy one every year just because I'm a freak(DW calls me King Disney)and this years addition is about wore out since we are actually going to go. Love touringplans.com for updates as well and find it much easier to understand than Tour Guide Mikes site. :cool1:

I just bought the unofficial guide for the first time. It is our 3rd time to WDW and having gone by the Birnbaum's guide that I bought in 2003 first trip up until now I thought I'd give it a shot. I think every 3 years is probably a good update time for these books. After reading the guide and living it first hand, you learn a lot first time, (they really know what they are talking about) then second time it is used as a great reference (what to see next time that you missed) then by the third time, things have changed enough and new options have opened that it is time to buy again. I didn't use any of the planning guides...don't know if I would have done so even having bought the unofficial guide in 2003 but overall, after reading it with a fairly good idea of what to do etc (not to say you don't learn something every trip!!) I thought it was a great reference guide. They don't profess to tell you what to do, only to enhance what it is you WANT to do. Birnbaum's guide is more of a quick reference and has more graphics for the reader who likes the pictures to tell a story... but both give great information. Use them to the fullest! I like the restaurant descriptions very helpful as I love to go out to eat! If you are the type to plan ahead, I recommend both highly! :woohoo:
