The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

Got up at 5am so I could go to work early. Got a lot done since nobody else was there, but I'm sitting here ready to fall asleep.

Work on Saturday??

Stop making the rest of us look so lazy!

Hope you got some rest, you deserve it!

That's super exciting! I wish I were close enough to make myself a new LGMH. Have a great birthday :D

I hate Sunday's TBH. I got off work at 6:30 this a.m. and I am so gosh-darned tirrrrrrrred. I cannot seem to sleep during the day for more than 2 hours at a time and it's killer. You would think I would learn to invest in some blackout curtains or something, to see if that would help. But I keep forgetting.

We have a lot of things going on at work, not to mention year end is always busy in accounting. Oh and did I mention I need to get ahead of things so I can take two days off to go to DL?:thumbsup2

I just did my lime green mickey head :) wohoo just makes it more official and closer to my trip!!!

One of these days I'm going to have to visit my local HD store and make one of those.

I haven't posted here much, but I hope nobody minds if I join in?

My DH works some nights, so has to sleep during the day. I tried blackout curtains and they didn't work that well. Instead I bought some curtain hooks (big round ones, with clips on them), then I clipped two dark colored velux blankets on them...works much better then blackout curtains....much cheaper also.:thumbsup2

We have a street lamp in line with our bedroom window, plus the gas station across the street (before it closed) with extra lighting. We didn't want the expense of black out curtains but we did have extra sets of the same dark navy curtains from a prior apartment with bigger windows. We doubled up the layers (tab top) and hung the curtains higher than the window frame. Tacked the side edges to the wall, no flapping and no peeking thru lights. It's perfect! Added bonus, the darker two layer curtains help to keep it cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter. :thumbsup2

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a good weekend. DBF and I went to the Supercross races and Angel's Stadium on Saturday. It was so cold! I was bundled up in my beanie and blanket and I still froze but we had fun.

:cool1:Woohoo!! there is a table on the budget board that shows when your refund will be direct deposited, based on when you filed, and it was accepted. I was worried about ours being accepted.. We had one year where the IRS kept kicking it back and wouldnt accept it. Turns out Alex's SSN was wrong. With the babies, adn them having dif B-days.. I just didnt know what to expect!

Thanks, I'll have to take a look at this. I got the e-mail saying it was accepted already.

Which is why I'm thinking of taking the kids to Jacksonville, FL Supercross on spring break. I know we have lucked out the last few years with the Seattle weather being beautiful on Supercross Day. But I just wonder how much longer that luck can hold out?? At least I know in Jacksonville if it rains, it's also 80 degrees.:thumbsup2

I am happy to report I'm no longer tarred!:rotfl2: Can you tell I got a country oldies CD for Christmas? I've been listening to Loretta Lynn songs...as a Coal Miner's Daughter she was tarred! It's a hoot to listen to her sing, if a word doesn't rhyme, she uses a southern slang like changing tired into tarred.:rotfl2:

So yesterday I got an invite by a friend to help raise money for the Fred Hutchison Cancer Center in Seattle. It's a bunch of people that are going to climb various mountains in the world in exhange for donations to cancer centers & cancer causes. She wants me to train with her (and any other friends she can round up) and then we would climb Mt. Adams in August.

OK now I have to say I LOVE hiking, but I generally do easy trails. Quite frankly I am totally intrigued by the thought of being able to climb a mountain. Yet I am totally terrified at the thought of climbing a mountain!:scared1:

We would start out on easy weekend hikes beginning in April in the Columbia River Gorge, then hike Mt. St. Helens (yes, I know an active volcano, but it's a really easy hike, even for kids).

I really want to do this, but I'm scared. I have never failed at anything in life that I've really set out to do. Do I want this to be the first thing I've failed at? I'm Ms. Play It Safe, and obviously climing a mountain is not entirely safe. Yet, imagine the thrill & sense of accomplishment I will have if I can climb a mountain!!!!!

Of course, you guys know I'm going to try it! Now that the challenge has been thrown at my feet, I will have to prove to myself that I can conquer anything in the world, cancer, mountains....is there anything that can stop me?:rotfl2:

Yet I find it funny that I think I can climb a mountain, but I'm considering renting a scooter for DL.

We are going to Anaheim 3 on the 13th but that is all for this season. Well maybe Vegas in May too. Last year we did all 3 Anaheims, San Fran, AZ and San Diego. That was fun!

They are advertising this for A3:
Monster Energy® Supercross Goes Pink for Anaheim 3 Race to Promote Breast Cancer Awareness

Not sure what it means...pink gear?

Hello Hyenas,

I hope you guys had a good weekend. My weekend was all right. A friend and I hung out on Saturday evening and went to Downtown Disney. We got to browse the new shops in DTD. I noticed that they have a store called D Street that is small and sells Vinylmation Mickey figures. I also showed my friend the Disney Vault store. I was told that they do not give AP discounts in this store but some of their merchandise is the same as in the park and in World of Disney. I told my friend that if she wanted anything to just let me know and we could get it from World of Disney since I would get a discount. I still think it's a little weird that they don't give discounts. :confused3

I had my Tokidoki for Hello Kitty bag and the sales girl flipped out and said: "OMG!! I love your bag!!" lol! I had a few reactions like that from other strangers in DTD. lol!

We ate dinner at Hooke's Point. My friend had never been there before. It wasn't busy. She ordered the sea bass and I ordered the mahi mahi. You can choose to have it mesquite grilled, sauteed or blackened.

We also grabbed some beignets from Jazz Kitchen Express. I got a hot chocolate and my friend got a coffee. Well our drinks were scalding hot. :scared1: We removed the lid off of our cups to let it cool, blew on it, nothing worked. It was just too hot. We even talked for 30 minutes and it still was too hot. Very weird.

My friend loved the store Little Miss Matched. She ended up buying a pair of dinosaur socks. :rotfl: They give Premium AP discounts which is really cool. I got some cute wristbands from there- 3 for $5 plus my AP discount, knocked it to $4. :)

We browsed a store called Kitson for kids. Apparently this brand is popular amongst celebs but they are freakin expensive. As a joke, I tried on a pair of animal gloves for kids. They were $18 and I put it on and they actually fit. I was like: "Oh nooooooo" and put them back real fast so I wouldn't be tempted to buy it. :rotfl: They have cute tote bags that have their logo on it but $68 for one is outrageous. It's not a fancy design or anything but my friend and I were wondering why they were so expensive.

I got a shirt that has a pair of Mickey ears on it and it says: "Just because I have ears does not mean I'm listening!" :rotfl: I saw that and had to get it!

Earlier that night, I had seen some people walking around with a Dale hat. I thought it was cute and asked one lady where she got it from. She told me from Mad Hatter in Fantasyland. My friend told me to go ahead and run into the park to get it. :rotfl: I asked if she was sure and she said: "Yeah! Go for it!" so I went into the park. Luckily the Main St store had it and I was able to get it. It's Youth size but it fits my head. :) It's really cute. I posted it on my facebook. There is no Chip hat though. Just Dale for the time being.

I got my friend a churro (she loves the DL churros) as a thank you for waiting for me. She was surprised and said it was delicious. :)

Sunday, my friend and I went to watch Sherlock Holmes. The movie was good but it was just really long. The theatre we went to was one I had never been to before and the seats were soooo uncomfortable. :( We grabbed a late meal at a Thai restaurant and then headed back to his place. We watched Pandorum. That movie was okay but some parts were just lame. :P

Ooh, had a question. On the Friday you guys are at DL, would you like to grab breakfast at Catal? :)

Oh and for lunch and dinner, the burgers at Village Haus have improved. I don't know what it is but they are yummy :) Just throwing ideas out there. :)

Hey Pix,

Are you going to be able to come by DL the last weekend in February during the Ladies Trip?

Good suggestions. Maybe I'll remember to give these a try for this weekend. I'm such a procrastinator sometimes, it does me absolutely no good.

Just WOW! I don't think I could ever have the guts to do something like that. I'm sure you can do it!!

Mondays, Mondays, Mondays. I'm off work until Wednesday, but tonight kicks off my first full week of school. I had my new dance (Salsa/Latin) class on Friday, but that didn't really count. I'm not so sure I'm going to like having all night classes this semester, but it's just the way it is.

OMG!!!! Jasmine stood up all by herself today!!!!!:eek: It took everything in me not to knock her over!:lmao::lmao: NO WALKING BABIES in my house!!

:scared1:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yeah, I can understand being excited and kinda freaked too, URGH more baby proofing! Now the fun begins!! Toilet paper strewn down the hall, fishing in the toilet, open cabinets with every dish, pot pan out to be banged and drooled upon, the older ones whining "she's drooling on my toys, she wrecked it!"

Yep, good times ahead. :thumbsup2

I'm so glad I have teenagers. :rotfl:
