The Unofficial Chatterbox Thread! Everyone is Welcome!

We are SOO planning our family trip already. We are really hoping to be able to go in the spring, for the babies first birthday, but DH might not have the vacation available due to the shop closing down at Christmas.. He might have to use it all then. I am HOPING not.. Otherwise we go at Halloween.. Maybe we can even go twice. ;):lmao:

We are planning Legoland, Universal, Disneyland, my sister house, and camping in the Redwoods.. 2 maybe three weeks. Only one night of camping.. Im not a huge fan.

Camping with babies in diapers...UGGHH!! Even I, a camping fan don't know how I would feel about that. Guess I could survive one night.:thumbsup2

You need to try "Alison Camping"...queen size bed with heating mattress pad, propane heat, lights, tv with vcr, refrigerator, stove, microwave, couch, dining table, air conditioning, shower & tub, hot water heater, toilet, sink and closet.:thumbsup2:lmao::rotfl2: If it starts raining we just pull out the awning, set the tv up and watch movies while eating microwave popcorn.

Of course I am limited and do have to "rough" it a bit. My hot water heater is only 6 gallons, I can only carry 40 gallons of fresh water and I have to listen to the generator if I want electricity. But hey, I'm not complaining.;)

Sure! I have the pic at home so I'll upload it again and send it to you. :thumbsup2

AWESOME!! Thanks!

Woohoo! Legoland! Dizzy's favorite!!! :teeth: ;) :rotfl:

Our Universal Studios is not as fun as Florida's. :( I wish they would improve it. I can't believe their admission costs about the same as going to DL. :faint:

I really enjoy Universal in Florida. I love the Popeye Barge Raft ride and Shrek 4D.:thumbsup2 But what I love even more is if you stay on-site you get an automatic fast pass for all the fast pass rides, as many times as you want, all day long. Your room key is your fast pass.:thumbsup2

Ran up to Walgreens at lunch today. They were having a clearance sale on TONS of office/school supplies.

I spent $40 for our office and saved $136.:thumbsup2 They had big packs of super sticky Post it Notes for $1.79, generic sticky notes for 25 cents. Nice packages of pens for $1, Sharpie twin packs for 75 cents, tabbed divider page packets for 25 cents.

I also got the kids some really nice notebook/binders. The normal $5-$10 notebooks (the ones the kids always want and I say no) were about $1 each.:banana::banana:

DS's Ipod Nano arrived today. He wanted a new Ipod Touch and has been working for me to earn money for a few months now. I finally talked him out of it...he really only wants it for the music capability. So we ordered a refurbished Ipod Nano from Apple. Still has a 1 year warranty like the new ones, but cost about 40% less than a new one.:thumbsup2 He was happy because he still had $50 left and got his new Ipod before summer's end.:thumbsup2 I plugged it in my computer at work and charged it up, so he can load his music and listen to it when I get home.

It's kind of sad in a way...he's my baby and he'll soon be 11. He's very quickly outgrowing the kid toys and getting into the pre-teen things. I've noticed less cartoons on the tv and more of the Disney pre-teen shows.:scared1: Not to mention this time next year DD will be graduating from high school and getting ready to head off to college.:scared1:

Cool beans! :thumbsup2 I go to Walgreen's to get my Arizona Georgia Peach Iced Tea. They are the only ones that carry it. When I go there I clean out that entire row of this flavor. :rotfl: Last time the cans in the back of the row got stuck and I had to ask a worker to go to the back and push them forward. :rotfl2:

That's cool that he got an iPod Nano. I have a pink mini iPod that I got for my b-day a few years ago. I mostly download songs off of iTunes and burn CD's to listen to in my car.

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: OMG! I was looking for a music smiley and came across this one! -------->

Apparently Shawna's rump smiley can play the piano in the nude! :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

See... my idea of camping is a motel 6. Roughing it anymore then that isnt much fun for me. But since we wont be full on camping, just kinda pitching a tent for the evening... Im willing to do it for the hubby. *sigh* Its just the kinda wife I am! :lmao::lmao:

Tent camping is all that we do, with air mattresses, our favortire pillows and cozy blankets of course. :goodvibes
We thought about gettting a pop up camper .. but we would have to pay for storage as it is not allowed in our parking lot here.

My parents took us camping (fishing in Canada) every summer.
They had a camper on the back of a truck.

My mom has not so fond memories (pre disposables era) of washing diapers out by hand using lake water ...ewwwwwwww.:scared:

My brother was potty trained during one trip, he followed the "guys" everywhere.. yep including the outhouse.

And I was only a few weeks old on my very first trip, blazing hot July. My dad gave me a bottle straight from the fridge. Scandalous in my mom's opinion, because you know the "cold milk will hurt the tummy"

-----------------------
Both of mine are teenagers now.. sniffle sniffle.
I have two more years until J graduates. 3 more after that for N to graduate.
Time flies, kids grow and become wonderful young adults. :goodvibes
Pat pat the back, you done good Mom and Dad.

Now kick em out the door and let it all hang out. Party TIME!

:jumping1:party:

I am happily enjoying my caribbean passion w/immunity from Jamba Juice :) It's nice and cool and gloomy outside. It's supposed to stay that way for the next few days (thank God!!). My bf and I plan to watch Up in 3-D tomorrow. I also have to get an oil change in the morning. Hope you all have a great day :)

SOOOO... I went to Once upon a child for the first time today.. that store has EVERYTHING!! It is great!! I found all kinds of stuff I want. I took in some clothes we have outgrown, and the bassinet. I got $24. for the bassinet. NOT TO SHABBY!! Seeing as how we bought it when Kaylee was a babe. I dont know about the clothes, we left them there.. They even do bikes! I found one for Mikalah for $20!!! :cool1::cool1:I love that store. The prices were great, and they had everything. They had a Bumbo for $20.. I WANT it. I cant believe that I have never been there. Oh well. Now I know!!

On to my big news. Alex's dad called Yesterday, and he wants to see Alex. :scared1: He said he is working, and has set up child support and all that jazz. Not that he has a choice. But whatever. I said fine.. he can see Alex.

I think Alex is at an age where he will see James for what he is. A punk. Oh well. I sat Alex down, and talked to him about it, and I asked him what he thought, if he wanted to see him.. He cried. It broke my heart. He wanted to know why he hasnt seen him in so long. I told him I didnt know. He is really emotional and confused right now. Poor kid. :guilty:

Awww....poor Alex! I don't blame him for being confused. :( When is he going to see him?

Ugh. I hate phone interviews for jobs. I called the person I was supposed to at 3 pm (the agreed upon time). No answer so I left a quick voice mail letting him know that I did call (in case I couldn't get a hold of anyone else or if he just wasn't picking up his phone because he was in the middle of working on something and lost track of the time) and then followed his instructions to call the main line to see if another employee at the office could track him down. The person I did talk to said he was in a meeting and I left a message with that person with my name and number. Now it's been an hour and I still haven't heard back. It could be possible that he's still in a meeting, but it also is starting to feel like that person just didn't want to talk to me and gave me the run-around instead of emailing me and saying "thanks but no thanks.":headache: How long is too long to wait? I hate having to sit by my cell phone instead being able to go off and do other stuff that needs to be done (I don't want to start doing anything because I want to be able to answer the phone as soon as it starts ringing).

At least I'm only 1 month away from going to Disneyland!

For what it's worth I think you are doing the right thing. My father never had very much to do with me and never sent child support. My mother let him see us (which was usually when we went to Calif. to spend the summer with my grandparents). I do have a relationship with him, and I'm glad my mother allowed it and didn't bad mouth him. She let us girls form our own opinion.:thumbsup2

That sucks! Well not the DL part. Just wish people wouldn't play games like that when people's futures are on the line like that.

I agree, I think you're doing the right thing Staley. Poor little guy, this has to be so confusing for him.

Good Morning Sweet Hyenas. Just enjoying a cup of coffee and watching the news. It's another beautiful 80 degree day here....and 80 degrees for as far out as the forecast goes.

Don't let anyone know, since most people think it rains here all the time. But we haven't had a drop of rain in 2-1/2 weeks and none in sight (or at least not in the 7 day forecast).:lmao:

SOOOO... I went to Once upon a child for the first time today.. that store has EVERYTHING!!

I wasn't sure if you had one in your area. :cool1:
My sis loves them too!
You might want to check your area Entertainment book, they usually have a $5 off $25 coupon. Or on the back of grocery receipts. :thumbsup2

Our closest store is extremely picky about what they take for infant clothes, claiming they only take "sets" .. yet they sell seperates?? I'm not sure if sis took her stuff to another location, the good thing about living in the metro.. there is ALWAYS another store somewhere.

We stolled Target while sipping our Starbuck's this morning, trolling the end caps. Big boxes of wipes (Pampers) and diapers (Huggies) were at 15% off, part of the value pack mark downs.
I plan to scrounge thru my coupons.. they had Purex detergent at 50% off, it's not that great of a detergent (I'm a Tide with a touch of Downy snob) but if I have a high value coupon it would be okay. ($2.57 a bottle) :)

Awesome job on the recent sig creations Pix!
I'm loving the coupon one for Alison- CUTE!!!!!!! :cutie:
