The univited couple

Has anyone done the "uninvited couple"? We have just over $900 to meet our minimum and are trying to decide between characters and the uninvited couple... We are having the reception at the California grill for brunch. .., if we do characters, my favorite is chip and dale- but will we disappoint people if we don't do Mickey?

Personally, I would go for the characters. That is unique to a Disney wedding, and I think guests would enjoy them more than the uninvited guests. I wouldn't worry about feeling obligated to have Mickey, either. Guests will probably be excited to see characters regardless of which one you choose. Chip and Dale seem great especially because you technically get two characters for one.

Another vote for characters and I think Chip & Dale would be a blast! I feel like the uninvited couple would be fun for a few minutes and then get old fast.

This is a good problem to have!! So often, everyone needs to cut and figure out how to save, how fun to be able to add something in!!

I think it really depends on your group and what's important to you...

The characters would be fun, and you'd get a lot of great pictures, and I suspect that whatever characters you'd choose, most of your guests will get a kick out them...

The uninvited guests sound like fun too...my concern would be that their comedy is much more interactive (I believe) and will depend, at least a little, on their interactions with your group...do you have people that will play along and have fun with it? If so, I bet it will be memorable and fun...but if your group is more shy or less likely to play along, it might end up awkward and uncomfortable...

Of course, that might be fun, too! Good luck with whatever you choose!

I think definitely characters! To me that's one of the cool perks of a Disney wedding, you could find a comedian anywhere but not your favorite Disney character. If Chip & Dale are your favorite then go for them, it's your special day and it would make it more unique than Mickey.

I also vote for the characters if you can swing it. I think they will be more memorable than the uninvited guests and better photo ops.

I also support the suggestion to not let your guests' expectations dictate your choices. This is your wedding, and you're paying a crap ton for it. They're you and your groom's memories more than anyone else's. Do what YOU want.

I think Chip & Dale would be awesome. They're really fun characters, and they play wonderfully off each other. We're not in the position to "cut" things--sadly...so Chip & Dale probably won't come to mine (I wish--they're two of my favorites). We're doing Mickey and Minnie--I don' think I could convince my groom otherwise!

I'd say characters. I remember hearing someone complain a while ago that they had the uninvited guests and the actual wedding guests got really confused not realizing it was a joke.
