All I can really say is WOW!!!!!!!

Practically! Just kidding. Actually, we started studying at the point where they had just developed musical notations. Yeah, we went waaaay back.

I don't know. They probably did it out of necessity or something. It started in the church, I believe. Here's a picture of an early music book. Actually, I've seen musical notations from even earlier periods. I don't know how people read those.

I know, right? Actually, this is better than some of the ones that I've seen. At least this one has a music staff!!




ETA: I forgot to mention that this class was from "antiquity" to the mid-1700s. It was a year-long class, too!! It was one of the toughest classes that I've ever taken. You should have seen the exams that we had to take!! I've never worked harder in any class before.
