My husband and I will be going to Disney World this September for our 10th aniversary. I have been thinking of all of our previous trips and we have some great memories of things that happened that we did not expect. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences?

Here are some examples:

On our honeymoon:
We walked into Epoct and a cast member asked us what we were in the park to do that day. We said that we were on our honeymoon and I had never been to Epoct. He asked us what was the one thing in the park that we wanted to do that day. My husband immediately said Test Track. The cast member gave us a pass to skip the line at Test Track.

The same day in Epoct we were sitting on a bench catching our breath and a maintenance cast member asked us what park we were going to the next day. We told her we were going to MGM (this was 10 years ago lol). She said that if we went on rockin rollercoaster to be sure to put our heads back just as the car started to move. We did and watched everyone else's head snap back as the ride took off! Every time we go on that ride now we always say put your head back!

We went to lunch at the Land. There used to be a revolving restaruant there. We mentioned to the waiter that we were at Disney for our honeymoon. A little later we were "married" again and given a mickey marriage certificate and Chip and Dale sat at our table for a bit as well.

Other Trips:
Rockin roller coaster - One person in our party realized when we were getting off the ride that she had been sitting on someone's left behind electronic planner. When she went to give it to the cast member he asked if we wanted to ride the ride again. Of course we said yes, and he took us around and put us in the front of the line :)

50's cafe - My Hubby and I were with another couple that we go to disney with quite often. Apparently, one of the managers remembered our friend from his last visit and stuck his head through one of the kitchen windows to say hello and what a good eater he was.

The very best thing that happend (IMO) to us was a couple of years ago. We were in the animation building store looking at the cels that they sell there. I got on my tippy toes to tell my hubby that I love him and to kiss him on the cheek. From behind us we heard someone say "that was the sweetest thing I have ever seen!" We turned around to find a cast member smilng at us. He told my husband that he should buy me anything that I wanted from the store. My huband said that the items were a bit too expensive. The cast member looked at his watch (I suspect that he was going on break or had to be somewhere) and said come with me. He took us back to the front door of the animation theater (where they teach you to draw a character) and asked me who my favorite character was. I told him stitch. He then drew a stitch for me! It totally made my trip!

Great thread topic!

One of my favorite unexpected moments was three or four years ago when DW and I were waiting in the queue at Test Track (wait sign said 45 minutes, but we were not in any huge hurry).

The CM at the Fast Pass entrance walked over and said hello to us, then asked if would would like to have a back stage tour and ride Test Track twice in a row, all would be possible if we could answer a Disney trivia question.

Having nothing to lose, we were more than interested, so the question was,

"What was Walt Disney's middle name?"

Both my wife and I had just read a Disney biography, the answer was easy.

We were toured back stage and allowed to ride Test Track twice in a row, the unusual part of the story is that the other four people in the car, when asked if they wanted to continue on for another ride, all said no!

We rode the second time all by ourselves!

We had a late dinner at Yachtsman in March on a Saturday night... got done after 11:30pm, all the parks were closed. Had to get back to the GF, and realized we should get a taxi. A bus pulled up and dropped off a load of people coming from MK. The bus driver asked where we were going, and told us to hop in. So we had a private ride back to the GF. Turns out the bus driver was from New York City, too. :)

October 2008 we were at HS and I was riding RnR with my 2 oldest while DH stayed back with the 2 little ones that were sleeping. He spoted a CM that had a pin on his lanyard that my older 2 had been looking for. Of course it was a green lanyard so he would only trade with the kids. He was on his way for his break but hung around 15 minutes waiting for us to get off of the ride so we could trade pins. The boys were so excited. We chatted with the CM for awhile and then DH and the older 2 got in line for RnR again with the child swap passes. As they were entering the que before the pre-show room they were all handed Year of a Million Dream fastpasses. That made my kids trip. I always think that if that nice CM didn't sit and wait for us the timing wouldn't have been right to get the dream FP.

Fun topic!

When we visited WDW in August 2007 (wow, has it been that long?!?) We were in MK one morning trying to decide if we should take the train or walk to our next destination. Finally decided to walk and as we headed out of TL, we were approached by a cast member and asked if we wanted to be the grand marshals for the Family Fun Day Parade. Met him back at the Hub in the afternoon and we were placed on a firetruck with Pluto to lead the parade.

Even DH, who hates being the center of attention more than almost anything, loved it.

We met a cast member from our city (knew from her nametag) at the Beauty and the Beast show and she gave us VIP seating :-). We got there right before the show but were still able to sit right up front.

We came down to WDW for a wedding several years ago, before DME, and arranged for a Mears Shuttle. We were waiting on a bus when one of the Mears employees came over and asked us if we wouldn't mind taking an alternative mode of transportation - and he points to a limo sitting nearby. No upcharge, just tip the driver.

Not Disney, but an excellent start to a Disney trip.

May of 2007 I was at Disney for my birthday with my sister and 2 nieces. I was doing the Lunch with an Imagineer at Brown Derby on my actual birthday and went to over to DHS by myself while my sister took my nieces to the Cape May breakfast. I got to DHS just after opening and it was a quiet day, very low crowds and I was just enjoying walking around on my own, doing a little shopping and I went into the Villians shop. There was no one in the shop except me and the very tall CM at the counter. I bought a very cool Malificent pin and the CM didn't really say anything, he just rang me and I paid. As I was leaving, he came around the counter and went out the door just in front of me, stopped, cleared his throat and sang Happy Birthday to me very loud...like an opera singer! He was a really good singer too! I was SO stunned. I had a birthday button on, but he didn't seem like he even noticed it when I was in the shop. It was so cool, it made my whole day.
