Thursday 20th May - Chef Mickey's, Magic Kingdom & Epcot

We were up early today for our last ADR of our trip I'd chosen Chef Mickey's and we had to be there for 9.30am. We hopped the bus to the Magic Kingdom and decided we'd catch the monorail around to the Contemporary.

We had a short wait before we were seated and I sent them all off for their breakfasts whilst I waited at the table. Our server was great and we had juice and coffee served straight away. They came back and off I went, I love this place for breakfast and went in search of Goofy's Breakfast Lasagne! Yum!

It wasn't too much longer 'til our first characters came to visit

We said goodbye to Pluto and Donald and tucked back into our food. We waited a little longer for our next visit and were saddened even more when Minnie decided she didn't want to visit at all! Mickey and Goofy were up next...

I mentioned to the passing CM that we'd not managed to catch Minnie and he promised she'd be back across soon And she was!

We carried on finishing our breakfasts and yet another surprise appeared before us to celebrate our engagement! We were each given a Mickey cupcake as a treat and a 'Congratulations' and napkin wave to boot!

Shortly afterwards it was time to leave Chef's. We had a wander through the resort gift store and chatted to the DVC CM before grabbing the monorail all the way around the resorts until we arrived back at the MK.

We got off the monorail and it was time to get my poor Mum a wheelchair. Her leg was very bad today, even when bandaged up she was still finding it very difficult to walk. She wasn't for having one, but there was no other way to tour It turned into a game as to how many photo's we could get of her in the chair, as she just hated it

We got onto Main St and decided we'd head through the shops down the left hand side. Once we'd got out at the far end, we had some more photopass pictures done...

We caught a little part of the 'Share a Dream Come True' show and took a couple more photo's...

From there we headed over towards Frontierland to ride Big Thunder for goodness knows how many times this trip It's a family favourite, what can I say?! We can't resist it! We managed to get a sneaky 'Mum in chair photo' too

We had to go through the wheelchair entrance this time, so we waited in the shade until we were called through to board our train. It's not all it's cracked up too be, we did have a fair wait time!

After BTM we headed back through Frontierland and I nipped into the Frontier Trading Post so I could pick up a couple of LE 10 Year Surprise Pins

I ended up with Daisy, Goofy, Donald and Pluto - I was made up with them!

We wandered back down and rode the Haunted Mansion again, we had a race this time. Myself, Simon and Chris did the regular queue and Mum and Dad went through the wheelchair entrance....we won! We walked up into Fantasyland from there and did IASW again, as it's my Dad's favourite, as it reminds him of his Mother

Around this time we decided it was sadly time to head back to the resort and pack some of our things. We headed back through onto Main St and called in The Emporium to pick up a tie and some Mickey socks for Simon for a wedding we had back home after the trip. We'd got these and I went outside to wait were I was treated to a performance from The Dapper Dans

Once back at the resort we hit the pool for a while and then sorted out some of our things to pack. We had some tea at the resort and showered and changed before heading back out to Epcot so we could catch Illuminations.

We got over to Epcot for around 7pm, so we had some time to spare before we needed a spot for the fireworks. My Dad wanted to ride Spaceship Earth again, so him and my Mum went off to queue for that. Me and the boys decided it was time for more photos!

After our photos we headed around to the World Showcase to see if we could stake out a spot. It was filling up nicely around the lagoon so we headed up through Canada and looked near the area around the Rose & Crown. There we found a railing that was free - or so we thought! I wandered over and stood there, in the free and empty space, only to be told 'that the shoes are minding a space' for people A girl had put some slip-ons on the fence, nearly an hour and a half before showtime, reserving space for people. No chance I was having that - and declared I was staying there, with my family, who were willing to wait for the whole hour and a half She wasn't impressed with me, but ah well, we were all there now waiting patiently.

At 9pm on the dot, the wonderful Illuminations started I love this firework's show and it's DF's favourite too. My brother got some great photos too.

Illuminations finished - and I cried! It was just too sad to think our trip was nearing its end. Just one more full day at Disney World left! It had flown by! We slowly wandered out of Epcot and Simon promised me, through my tears, that next time he takes me back there it'll be for us to get married - so I cried some more! We got back to ASSp and hit the arcade for a bit before heading out for some drinks with Mike & co. at the pool bar

I love Illuminations. I've never heard of shoes reserving a space for people before.

Maybe you should have got your Mum and ECV - she would have had her own BTM all the way around MK and Epcot

And good for you for standing your ground over the 'flip-flop reservation system' Bloomin cheek for even trying it.
