We're just curious. We're supposed to leave tomorrow and all we keep hearing about it a stomach virus outbreak down there. Anyone able to not get it?

I've bought out my local grocers supply of hand sanitizer!

We were there 11/30-12/07 & we did not get a stomach virus. My son had a slight cough/cold when we returned, but that is all.

We were there 12/4-12/10 (Me, DH, DD9, DD2, & DD2). None of us got it, thankfully. I didn't really hear much about it either. Hope you have a great, healthy trip!

A group of us were there this past week-end & stayed at POP. None of us got sick & we ate in both the MK & the POP food court. Lucky for us!!:goodvibes

We were there on 12/5 and I did get a stomach virus. Now, I don't know if I got it from there but if there was an outbreak, that would explain it!!

Stay healthy.

DH and I were there 12/1-12/4 and we were fine.

We've been back for a week and now I'm sick. Just a cold though, no flu.

stomach virus has hit here in south central pa as well.
DD4 and my mom had it last week. DS2 had it sunday, I had it monday into tuesday. Neighbor had it today.

Hope it passes on your family. Have a wonderful trip!

We got back home on 12/9 and last night my sister and I both got insanely sick (vomiting and diarrhea). Are a lot of people getting this too?

We were there 11/30 - 12/6. DD had it bad, I had a touch of it. DH came down with strep  For the record, we did not eat at any buffets. DD ate lunch at Electric Umbrella before she got sick and I ate at Sunshine Seasons that day. I got sick 2 days after her.

I've read about it alot on the trip boards this week as well as I have family there right now and 5 out of the 7 of them have been sick since Monday with it! My heart breaks for them. We even thought about canceling but we can't put our children in bubbles I suppose!

I guess it's a hit or miss senerio and hopefully if we take the extra precautions we'll be fine (like buying Publix's stock of hand sanitizer and lysol!). Like a previous poster said - I guess it hits in our home towns as well and maybe I'm stressing and shouldn't!

Thank you everyone for the responses. It's nice to know some have managed to avoid it! I feel so bad for the people who have come down with it and it ruins their vacation. It's so sad!

DD had to be taken to Florida Hospital-Celebration because she was so sick. This was Dec7. Couldn't hold down anything in her stomach. Kept throwing up and having diahorrea. It was not pretty. We spent the entire evening in the emergency room. What an ordeal.

Im not in Florida (live in Michigan) but there is defiantly some stomach thing going on around here, my son has been throwing up all evening. His 2 cousin has got it right now, and last week a neighbor and another cousin had it. I'm on my second load of laundry because he is yet to make it to the toilet, for some reason he don't want to use the bucket that's next to him either.

Oh no! I hope he gets better soon for you (or learns to use that bucket!). It's so hard to watch them go thru it and clean it up so I guess that is why I am so nervous. Best of luck that he's better by morning for you!

Got back on the 6th from an 8 day trip and none of us got sick. Stayed at YC and never left WDW property so ate all meals there

Oh no. This sounds like no fun. We leave Sunday and I'm stocking up on the wipes and hand sanitizer - and immodium!!! Don't forget the airplanes could be the source of it spreading as well!

We were just there dec 1-8 and no stomach virus but I got a bad cold of sorts. Sore throat, stuffy nose, cough, head congesstion. I went to the dr yesterday and got some meds.

We got home from Orlando last Friday. We flew there and did US, IOA, MK, and EPCOT. My son had a slight stomach bug one day when we were there, just diarrhea. No one else had it.
After we got home one daughter and I got sore throat/cough/runny nose. I have to say though, most of our friends here in Texas have it too.
I don't think it has anything to do with Disney, I think it is just the season.

and with the wacky weather (even in one location) peoples' immune systems might be outta wack (regarding the cold like sicknesses) I mean, if I was in cold PA or something and going to 80 degrees in a day, my immune system would go berzerk......and I am even in the same state, and these 20+ degree changes are pushing my normal health-ness to its limit.....

9 of us and we only got colds and such from lack of sleep. My 2yr old got croup but he's prone to it and was over that in a couple days. We did however just recover from a nasty stomach virus back home so I'm sure glad that one passed us by! Older DD and I did have some sickness going on on the 7th but I think it was a reaction to the hot chocolate as no one else had any issues.
