The U2 Thread - Vertigo Tour

I have also been a fan since the early 80's. I have seen them 17 times so far and am hoping to get tickets for the first Toronto show and the Buffalo show. The pre-sale starts next Tuesday!! Can't wait!!!

17 times?? Wow!! What was your favorite show??

Here I am NOT hating debster (although feeling a teeny bit envious :teeth: !). I've got also got my vinyl copy of Boy at the ready (actually have all of them on vinyl through Joshua Tree although my turntable died many years ago).

I'm just glad for those of us who have gotten tickets, and have fingers crossed for those still trying.

We will have an amazing time!!

yay, they're coming to Houston!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unfortunately I didn't sign up to be a member in time so no presale for me  does anyone know when the tickets to the general public go on sale?

I've been a U2 fan for a long time, since junior high when Achtung Baby came out, but didn't see my first show until the last tour, and now I'm hooked.

so I guess until Oct 28 I'll just have to have my own mini concert wiht my U2 iPOD :music:

ETA: ohmygosh, they go on sale this saturday!! now the obvious question, better to buy online or in person?

Yay!!! I finally got my passcode situation all straightened out and now have my Los Angeles & NYC tickets!! I'm so excited!!

Anyone else going to the LA show?

Good luck to everyone whose presale starts tomorrow!! Please post back and let us know how it went...

I wish I had some good advice for you but I've had trouble doing both. If you're gonna pay cash...you could offer a few friends lunch to go stand in line with you. Increases your odds a bit. Here's some good luck for you... :wizard:

My favorite show was probably during Pop Mart at Mapleleaf Garden in Toronto. I had 4th row seats (thank you Propaganda) and it was not a huge venue, like a stadium. But every show is great, I have loved every one of them even after waiting all night outside in the rain in Rochester NY in October for Joshua Tree (very cold).

Hooray for you!!!!! How many shows is that on this tour for you--3? That is so great.

I'm still just going to my lone Boston show, but will LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

I might try for October during the general sale, but we'll see. I hate to leave the kids again, esp at the beginning of the week. School nights and all, you know, and none of my sitters get them to bed on time (and by this I mean my mother).

Yep, 3 shows, Anaheim, LA and NYC. If I had the money & time I would just travel from show to show. What a great way to see the world!! But back in reality these 3 shows are it for me. On the Elevation Tour I saw them in San Diego, LA and Anaheim. The best part was at the Anaheim show I had GA's and had to wait 9 hours in line to get in the heart. Well, around 2pm Bono & the Edge secretly came out to the loading docks and I (and about 50 others) were able to say hi (very briefly) and have our tickets signed. It was surreal!!

That is extremely cool. I seriously don't know what I would do if I came face to face with any members of U2. Probably just stammer uncontrollably and possibly cry and run away (and I am NOT like that--not very much fazes me!!).

I could barely contain myself being in the second row of REM in October and seeing them so close and knowing Mike Mills could see me. Had I opportunity to TALK to these people whom I have loved for so long....well, it boggles the mind!!

Another presale success. The fiance got GA's for LA as well!! :cool1:

Anyone else?

I was able to get tickets during the first pre sale and I was able to get another pair thru the pre sale this past Tuesday due to being a former Prop member. :teeth:

I heard U2 are in talks with Apple to have concerts available for download via itunes a few hours after the concert ends. That would be great! I would love to add to live concerts (esp. the ones I go to) to my U2 ipod!

We got our presale tix yesterday (members of U2.com) for the Philly show on Oct. 16th.!

Fan since 1984 or so. My very first concert EVER was the Joshua Tree tour in 1987 in the now gone JFK stadium in Philly.

I was at that same show! Bono had his arm in a cast, and remember when Bruce Springsteen came on stage for a song (can't remember the song, lol)

I heard the same thing. That would be great!! Although, I wish they'd release an offical Popmart Live DVD. I have the VHS but I don't have a VCR anymore. lol. I've seen some copies on ebay but I'm not sure they are the real thing.

I'm so excited!! The Anaheim show is less than a month away!!

Congrats to you!

We initially got floor tix, but due to a bad knee, I can't stand for that long (I did back in '87, though, lol) We ended up in section 210 row 2, which are pretty good seats for $49.50.

What a fiasco that was last month for the May concerts...Guess they got things straightened out with Ticketmaster, as the code went through without a hitch.

Enjoy!

Don't forget the general sale starts this weekend (Saturday & Sunday) for Fall tickets!!! Check Ticketmaster.com for onsale times in your area. Good luck!! :goodvibes

I couldnt find this thread. I got tickets for Oct 10, at MSG :cool1:
I am still working on something for the May showa., But I am so excited

I didn't even try this weekend since I'm already going to a couple shows...thought I'd leave some for everyone else. lol. Plus, I was in the Mouse Adventure at Disneyland so I was pretty busy by the time tickets went onsale.

Congratulations to everyone who got tickets. And I'm sorry for anyone that really wanted tickets and didn't/couldn't get them!! But since no one's posted about not getting tickets this weekend, I'm assuming there was lots of luck out there.

Don't forgot to come back and post about your show here!!!
