The Tron Monorails

Disney has unveiled two monorails displaying the Tron design. John, the Purple Van driver, has posted a photo on his thread (see http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=35897220&postcount=401).

The Tron movie is scheduled for release in December 2010. I'd expect that Disney will continue to use these designs until the release of the movie. I suppose some people won't like these ads replacing the classic monorail designs, but I look forward to seeing the Tron monorails when we return to WDW in October.

Here's a link to photo of the blue monorail. I also read that the Tron monorails would be running on the Epcot line. Since the new Tron movie will be coming out in December I hope to see this monorail during our DVC stay in October. This Disney Blog also includes a video of the two different Tron Monorails.

looks like they are also covering up the windows....

that was one of the fun things to do look out the windows of the monrail.

you can't do it easily anymore.

oh if you are staying at BLT - for a while if the monrail needed to stop - it stopped far away from BLT - a couple of times when I was there it stopped in front of CR (and in front of BLT)

so know this can happen.

one of the pictures that I took had the monrail and buses in the same shot - too bad my camera lens is not big enough to also catch the ferry in the same shot.

You will still be able to see out, just not in. It is a special kind of design. Sometimes used on city buses. Also used on the top floors of the Mirage in Vegas to advertise cirque du soleil.
