"...yes, and 'Uh-oh" is definitely needed here!...."

.....sooooo, once again, we found ourselves on a fairly short queue line, eagerly anticipating that wonderful TT ride, which boasts speeds of more than 64 m.p.h. at the end of the straight-a-way.....not today! Once again, the Briefing Room part of the ride was not working, an ominous forewarning of what lie ahead....we took our vehicle through its paces, until, finally, we were precariously aimed at that 'brake door' - you know, the one that you 'supposedly' crash into, mere seconds before it gives way to the great beyond and that outdoors stretch of track. Well, we zoomed ahead, finally emerging into that 'great outdoors', and......thirty yards later, came to a rolling halt!

What now? We sat there, looking at each other, all the while wondering "NOW what? Should we just sit here? Do we get out of the car?", when there appeared a CM, who looked to be not more than 16 years old, surfacing from the steel stairs up ahead, about 40 yards away. Of course, I joked that SHE wasn't going to 'fix' our vehicle [she looked like she didn't know the difference between a spark plug and a nose plug], but it seemed more and more evident that she was, as she walked towards us. She lifted the back 'hood' of the car, and began tinkering away for 2 or 3 minutes. Since we couldn't see what she was doing, for all we know, she could have been fixing a leak with a piece of chewed gum! She finally closed the hood and gave the car a push, which activated it...unfortunately, the car topped out at roughly 6 m.p.h. Do you know how difficult it is to stay in your seat when you are situated in a vehicle that's tilted more than 45 degrees??!!?!? [on the bright side, I did discover what is directly below the 360-degree circle of track - a parking lot for the construction workers, as well as a 'holding place' for the brand-new cars that are going to be put into the showroom] Well, that wasn't the worst part of it. We were 'welcomed' with angry stares from the hoards of folks anxiously waiting their turn to ride a vehicle, standing on the boarding platform.....yeah, like WE purposely broke our car down on the track  ! We quickly disembarked, were instructed to take the stairs next to the exit ramp, walked directly overhead, to emerge back onto the loading platform, where we were escorted onto the very next vehicle. This time the ride was, shall we say, less 'eventful'....THANK GOODNESS! Once done, we quickly headed to the exit, to find ourselves in the showroom:

....all I can say is that, for all those nay-sayers who pooh-poohed the idea of closing down TT for refurbishment, it was a long time coming, and future rides should be much more pleasurable.....we continued on to Soarin', sampling the sights and sounds of which Cali is so known for, before heading towards World Showcase and once again, splitting up our party - Jean and Maureen towards Nemo and Friends and Dylan, to the nearest restroom....

[...continued on Page 76 - Post #1129...]

That is an adventure I will happily pass on. It was good though that they let you ride again.

Corinna

I'm happy they put you right back in the next available ride car. Although, I'm not sure I'd have gone again until they'd checked out the ride. :confused3

Waiting on the next installment

....apparently, it was our vehicle that was faulty - not the ride itself, because it was removed after we disembarked...:confused3

:rotfl2:

I can tell that the Radiator Springs Racers at DCA is based on the same technology. That ride is always going down too :confused3

....oh, my sister [and family] know that all too well....they traveled 3000 miles to NOT be able to ride it THREE DAYS IN A ROW!

I was going to echo the above sentiment since I know of the plight of your sister!

You broke the car???? :confused3

Another short; but s-l-o-w 6 mph installment.

Are we there yet? Are we there yet? :hyper:

.....sooooo, once again, we found ourselves on a fairly short queue line,

Were there a lot of short people in it? How many in the fairly tall queue line? I'm betting fewer. Too bad your knees can't handle walking around the parks in stilletos, I bet you could get in the fairly tall queue then!

Well, we zoomed ahead, finally emerging into that 'great outdoors', and......came to a rolling halt!

How thoughtful of Disney to provide you with the opportunity to get an 'unblurred' shot of the exterior (Whilst perched precariously on your posterior)

Adjusting the flux capacitor. Whoops wrong company!

unfortunately, the car topped out at roughly 6 m.p.h.

So you're saying you're a little slow?

We were 'welcomed' with angry stares from the hoards of folks anxiously waiting to ride a vehicle, standing on the boarding platform.....yeah, like WE purposely broke our car down on the track  !

Yeah! What's with that? The nerve. Don't break the car next time!

And as a reward for your bad behavior, you get to ride again with no waiting.

We quickly disembarked, were instructed to take the stairs next to the exit ramp, walked directly overhead, to emerge back onto the loading platform, where we were escorted onto the very next vehicle. This time the ride was, shall we say, less 'eventful'.

Even less speed, huh? Well, as long as you're happy, I guess...

all I can say is that, for all those nay-sayers who pooh-poohed the idea of closing down TT for refurbishment, it was a long time coming, and future rides should be much more pleasurable.

I hear ya... but I have to admit I have my doubts. I really wonder if there'll be fewer breakdowns. I hope so, I really do... but still, I wonder...

....I did it AGAIN!!!! :badpc: I....have...no ...words - LITERALLY. Three solid paragraphs and 4 or 5 pix posted, and now it's GONE.....AAACCCCKKKK!!!!! Just - POOF!WHERE'S THE HAIR-PULLING SMILEY WHEN YOU NEED IT???!?!?!
