The trip that took us by surprise!

Am so excited have decided to do a Pre trip report to help calm me a little????

Cast: Me - Jo 40's a complete Disney Fanatic

DH - Bren 40's OK 6 times enough is enough????

DD - Angela 17 - a complete Diva

DD - Olivia 12 - A true Disney Princess

When: Midterm February 2011

Why: OMG we won a family trip - can you believe it????????

How: Coca Cola sponsored competition in local cinema - go Gaiety Arklow!

Where: HNY - had such a fab time there last year!!!

How Long: 3 nights/ 4 days

As some may recall last year was a single mom & Disney Daughter trip as hubby and older daughter said enough is enough ..." There are other places to see"....ignoring them DD & I had a fantastic trip staying on-site in the HNY - Empire State - as mom not brave enough alone ....the lure of the private lounge, private breakfast etc etc (also no one to run between fastpass machines to ensure rides on BTM etc etc.

Recessionary times hit poor old land or Erin and we thought "Oh dear no immediate trips to DLRP to cheer ourselves up DD & I go to cinema to see the long awaited Toy Story 3... what's this...a competition...the prize...a family trip to DLRP....OMG - we so need to enter....fast forward a couple of months when mom receives a phone call............... does she remember entering a competition in local cinema??? emmm yes vaguely - well you have won!!!! remind me again what the prize was? (thinks - a years supply of popcorn? tickets every week to cinema?? .........WHAT...You are joking.....A trip to DLRP

Picked up voucher from very nice Coca Cola man!! OMG 1,500 euros to plan a trip

2 days later HNY booked again!!!!!

Next day character Breakfast Booked

Emmm same day Flights Booked......we are so on our way!

Ah now for the fun....planning our dinners...our breakfasts...our suppers!

This is an amazing story, so happy for you and you must be beyond excited to be planning this free trip! I'm forever entering DLP competitions but never hold out much hope.
Are your husband and older daughter looking forward to this trip...?

Yes but.....................they plan to go into Paris for 2 of the days??????

DD2 and me will just have to suffer on alone in DLRP!!!!!

Browsing restaurants etc. at moment getting great mileage out of planning where we will eat etc..!

Fantastic - well done, I suppose the saying 'you have to be in it to win it' have never been so true!!

I remember reading your tr from the HNY - you both had a ball - bet you can't wait now to go back.

Ms Poppins - yes that was us last year at HNY - we really did enjoy that trip - I can remember looking out the window of our room just before checkout and promising my little girl who was crying so hard that we were going home....we will come back maybe not next year but as soon as I can save up some money! So you can imagine just how excited I am to be able to fulfil that promise so soon!

OK so now have our meal plans sorted!

Day 1 all at park together so hoping to have dinner at Blue Lagoon at 1ish then later Annette's for tea

Day 2 - dd1 & I in DLrp and dd2 and dh in Paris - so after a cafe mickey breakfast with dh & dd2 we will have lunch at Toad Hall and all have dinner together at HNY - Park side Diner - yummy buffet

Day 3 - dd 1 & 2 and I in Dlrp and dh in Paris (why???) - so lunch at Walt's the express menu for us and then Dinner all together at Cafe Mickey

Day 4 = last day sob - have a surprise for dd2 18th birthday planned (can't post until return in case she sees!) then all having dinner at Walt's (its gonna be a long one!) and finally a snack at Annette's before we have to head for the airport sob!

Just can't wait!!!!

Your dh going to Paris on his own for a day? Mind you, I've spent a day being touristy in London by myself and loved it!

Just rang the Disneyland Resort Paris Restaurant Reservation line and booked all our main meals for our trip! Sooo excited! We decided Blue Lagoon for our first day, Parkside Diner in the HNY for our second night, Cafe Mickey for our Third Night and Walt's for our last day!

Just have to have patience and wait now!
