The Trip That Almost Wasn't - December '09 (We are BACK!!!! TR to start soon)

Sorry to hear the news about Chris' grandmother. My grandmother, too, also died from lung cancer many many years ago so I know how your husband feel. There is really no word to comfort any one in a situation like this. All I can say is be strong and I am sure you and your husband's family will get thru this.

I wish you and your husband's family the best.

Thank you, Michele

Aw, hearing that it made you teary has made me teary! :sad1: Not that THAT is hard to do! We all know how easily I get choked up! Anyway, I really, really meant what I said. And I totally feel the same way you do. All of your support means the world to me too. :grouphug:

Awww we can get teary together :sad1::hug::laughing:
You're the bestest Nicole!!

I'm so sorry to hear that your Grandmother had to suffer with this as well. It's just so sad. And it's heart breaking to watch a loved one suffer. Thank you so much for your kindness. You're right, strength is the only thing that is going to get us through this right now and that's what I'm praying for. That and that I hope Chris' Grandmother doesn't have to suffer much (if at all) and just goes peacefully.

Thank you again, Peter. It means a lot to have great friends like my DIS buds here.:hug:

I'm so sorry for you and your husband...and have added his grandmother to my prayer list.

I know it may have hurt that you were not invited to go along but just concentrate on being there for your husband and then make a special occasion to go visit his grandmother.

As for CG vs Narc...

I have a slight preference for Narcoosee -- it doesn't seem as rushed or as crowded as CG and more romantic; you get to look up at the fireworks from the dock outside and you get to see the Water Parade. If you time it correctly, you'll eat your dinner and then the waiters will let you go outside to watch the fireworks, then you come back inside and eat dessert. It's a whole experience.

However, CG as you know is fabulous, too.

Thanks Marsha. That means a lot.

Yeah it did. I still don't think they think of me as family in a lot of ways. This isn't the first time I've been un-involved like this. But, the longer we're married the more I get used to it. We plan on having weekly dinners with her now to spend as much time with her as possible.

Okay, so I've been awol due to quilting retreat and trying to get ready for that. so sorry everyone. i promise i will be better from now on. My trip is less than 4 months away now so I really gotta get on the ball here! We might have to change our dates of our trip but not by much.

I will give you all the details and put up my list of ADR's that I want a little later this evening or tomorrow. For now I gotta go and cook dinner for the husband. Hope everyone is still along for the ride. I promise, the closer to the trip it gets the better this ptr will be. From now on this is the thing I will be focusing on. :thumbsup2

Hey girlie

Totally understand

I am not going anwhere

Will be waiting popcorn::

Okay, and now for the announcement:

Our vacation dates have changed. We are now going December 4th - December 12th. Why you ask? Well, first of all, we had our dog sitters bail on us (they moved to Texas) and everyone we can think of to ask is unavailable so soon after Thanksgiving. Then, I had planned on going to PA with my parents for Thanksgiving but wanted to fly to Orlando on November 28th, well my Dad didn't hear that part I guess 'cause he has me coming back to Atlanta with them on December 1st and getting a one way ticket to Orlando on a Saturday after Thanksgiving is outrageous!! Then I found out about free dining in December and decided to do some number crunching. It turns out that going the 4th - the 12th instead of what we have now is $64 cheaper!! And we get free dining!! So I'm super excited about that!! :woohoo::woohoo: Chris already put in for his time off from work and they have already approved it. So once we have the $ this week I will be booking our new reservation with FREE dining!! :woohoo::woohoo: Hence the new ticker you see in my siggie! :thumbsup2

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!! We are still not going to be at the parks the whole time but we will spend 4 days there and also MVMCP. We just want to do a few other things while we're in the area that we haven't done before.

Anyways, so that's the news. Next up is my list of tentative ADR's so you guys can help me decide what I should do. :thumbsup2

hey it looks like we posted at the same exact time. haha

fix your post..."not" should be "now" You're gonna confuse people if not. :rotfl:

but Yay!!!! :thumbsup2

WOO HOO on free dining

:woohoo::woohoo:

Can't wait to read your tenative Adrs popcorn::

Love the new ticker, too..so colorful :flower3:

Thanks girl. I am ULTRA excited!!

And thanks. Almost went with Pop ticker but just had to have that one when I saw it. Love Mickey & Minnie

Here is the list I have so far that is on the dining plan. Nothing is set in stone and I am open to suggestions and anything you have to say about my selections. Most of these I haven't been to before so reviews would be nice. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Counter Service:
Everything POP
Riverside Mill Food Court (for Chris)
Columbia Harbour House
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe
The Launching Pad
Pinocchio Village Haus
Electric Umbrella
Liberty Inn
Backlot Express
Toy Story Pizza Planet

Table Service:
The Wave (kinda iffy on this one....)
California Grill (also kinda iffy on this one since 2 TS credits each to eat here)
Grand Floridian Cafe
Narcoossee's (also iffy here since 2 TS credits)
Kona Cafe (breakfast and dinner)
Boatwright's Dining Hall
Beaches & Cream soda Shop (we might do this OOP since all I want is the Kitchen Sink....and if we do that then I can use this day's TS credit towards one of the 2 TS credit places)
Liberty Tree Tavern (this is a MUST do for us for dinner. Possibly schedule this for the night we are going to MVMCP)
Le Cellier (this is also a MUST since we've been unable to get a table here the last two years)
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater (another must for Chris)
Yak & Yeti (this might be OOP IF we go to AK since Becca can get us a discount here)
Planet Hollywood (this is on the probably not list but still gotta put it since through our package we get a meal coupon)

So there you have it folks. Please help me! We are only at the parks 4 out of the 8 days we are there. One day we will be visiting my grandparents, another day we plan on going to Kennedy Space Center and another day we want to go to the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Palms Resort. So at least 2 of those days we won't be anywhere near Disney. We could probably be back for dinner on those days. So hard to plan everything w/o park times. Ugh!

so i just looked at my list again and am now thinking that on our kennedy day and our grandparent's day i can just use CS credits for dinner so they don't go to waste and then the 2 extra TS credits we will both have can go towards going to California Grill and Narcoosee's. What do you guys think??
