The Trip Planning Game! A MARCH 2017 Pre-Trip Report Update 2-10 Day 5

Our Magicbands arrived!!!! It's all so real! I've barely taken my MB off since we got it!! Our last trip was 3 months before MB's we're a thing so I'm so excited to finally have it! And I got new Park shoes this weekend and I can't wait! Only 19 days!!!!!!!!

On to day 6 plans!

This is a pretty simple day. I'm sure we'll end up at MK in the morning because we have lunch at 11:00 at the Plazza a new restaurant for us!

Then in the afternoon, we have all the AK Fastpasses..... Because I thought we'd maybe be seeing ROL this night... But no such luck as of yet so I'm not sure if we'll keep these or do something else... I don't know but here's the lineup as of now.

We have Finding Nemo- The Musical, Festival of the Lion Kind which is one of my favorites and finally Kilimanjaro Safari's I've been looking forward to trying this at night!

The Plaza is another restaurant that I want to try. I think the menu would be perfect for my son that loves a great burger. Plus my daughter just loves, loves ice cream!

:dancer:You must be doing the BIG DISNEY DANCE NOW! Less than two weeks away! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Oh yeah! My mom said yesterday she wishes we were leaving this week!

I know I haven't updated in awhilel but that's because I was waiting for this very special day! It's single digit dance day!!!! That's right only 9 days left! Let's get some of the Disney related life updates out of the way first. I'm a huge Newsies fan like huge! I discovered the song Sieze the Day when I was 6 just after our first Disney Trip where my parents bought me and orange disney greatest hits tape! Yes I still remember cassette tapes. On side B was this song that I loved called Sieze the day but none of us knew where it was from! I had and listended to that tape constinatly in the car (and almost always side b) untill 5ish years later when my mom got in a car accident and we couldn't get the tape out of the car after the accident. Luickly she was OK though :) Then in my middle school chior class we wallked in and my teacher had the soundtrack to Newsies playing at the begining of class. I was waiting for class to start and was listening to the music and thinking hmmm I like this. Then she says OK there's a song from this muscial that I'm thinking we might sing and she played Sieze the Day! I freaked out in my head this was that song that I had been trying to fiqure out forever! I went to the libary and rented the DVD watched almost non-stop for the 3 days I had it and cried when we had to take it back. Then my dad bought me the DVD and I watched for probalby 2 weeks straight... 13 year old me was in love with this movie and add to the fact I learned it was a Disney movie and I was like where have you been all my life. Then the Broadway Muscial premeired in 2012 and I was so excited! Then it closed in 2014 and I was sad thinking I would never see it but they annocnced a tour but it wasn't coming near me. But that tends to happen on first run national tours. But it did end up coming on 2015-2016 national tour! I got tickets for Christmas and had the time of my life!!!! About a month after I saw it they announced the thour would be ending in october. And I was sad I'd never get the chance to see it again. But then they annoced they were fliming the stage show for a limited release in movie theaters and wouldn't you know one of the theaters it was going to be at was only 15 minutes from me! I pratically bought tickts that second! So that's how I celebrated my Two weeks before our trip seeing my absolutly favorite Disney movie/musical. Now I'm just hoping they release the filmed version on DVD or for a digital download.

That ended up being longer then I intended but it's still Disney related. Let's get on to the fun trip stuff.

Part of the reson I shared that long story with you is that day 7 plans are kind of borning. So I'll also say that I've starte packing and am about half way through my autograph book.

Day 7 is our swing day as I like to call it basically it's the day to do anything we haven't done yet that we wanted to. so the only thing we have planned is Dinner at Whispering Canyon!

Counting down the days with you! I enjoyed hearing about your love for "Newsies". I need to pull up the soundtrack for it to listen to it now. You have convinced me to check it out. I am hoping it comes out on DVD too because it would fit into my eighth grade Social Studies curriculum perfectly! I teach a big unit on that time period, so I would love to have a great show to show clips of to my students to help them visualize the time period and events.

This weekend, I get my own taste of Disney right here at home. My daughter is performing in her school's production of Disney's The Lion King Jr. show. Here is a photo of her in her costume. She plays Sarafina, Nala's mother. I still have not seen Festival of the Lion King at AK. They were remodeling the theatre the last time we were there. It is on our MUST DO list for the next time we go!

Absolutly!!! Newsies is great for that! And I remember working on that time period in school and always feeling like this was that one big gaping hole of an event we never tallked about (that was 10+ years ago though so the circulum very well good have changed since then) but it's such a great look at the time period and just how much power the press really does have so many good things to learn! Check out the orginal 1992 movie version to the story isn't as strong as the broadway version but it's a great start and some of the set and visuals are probably a little more true to life then what the limitations of the stage production have.

Your daughters costume looks great! It's so simlilar to the actual broadway version!!

Today is Thursday, March 2nd so that means that you will just have two more nights at home and then on Saturday you and your family will fly away to :tinker:Neverland! So excited for you! :goofy::mickeyjum:tigger::donald:

What last minute things do you still need to do? Do you have most of your stuff packed already?

You always seam to know when I'm about to stop by and leave an update! :) I'm so excited I can't believe it's finally here! I think most things are pretty much done! My goal was to have everything packed by the time I go to sleep tonight so I can just enjoy the excitement tomorrow!

2 days!!!!!!! Ahhh! I'm so excited! I'm so close to having everything packed and ready to go! I have everything set out to be able to finish packing after work! It's so close!

I have 2 more days of our trip that I haven't shared yet. Day 8 is one last day at MK we have fastpasses for Mickey and Tinkerbell and dumbo throughout the morning and early afternoon and have a somewhat early dinner reservation for Tony's!

The last day is just another travel day. Our flight leaves in the afternoon so we'll checkout in the morning and probably spend the morning hanging out in the club lounge enjoying the last bit of our trip!

So it's time to sign off this PTR but don't worry I'll be back with a trip report soon!
