The Trip Planning Game! A MARCH 2017 Pre-Trip Report Update 2-10 Day 5

Travel day is always kind of stressful, so it is nice that you just plan to take it easy and go with the flow once you arrive.

The last time I flew to WDW we left about the same time you will be leaving and arrived at MCO around 11:30. My daughter was hungry so we ate at the BK in the airport. We sat by the window and got our first glimpse of the Florida sunshine and the palm trees. I was super anxious to just get on the Magic Express and get to WDW but it was probably for the best that we stopped and got something to eat first. Otherwise, I would probably have bee pretty cranky later if we hadn't eaten anything.

That's our thoughts too... I'm sure I'll be antsy to get to the wonderful magic of Disney but I have a feeling stopping for lunch at the airport will happen first. They have that really nice food court at MCO!

YAY for paying off your trip :cheer2: That's awesome! We take it pretty easy on arrival day as well. We do have an ADR for dinner that day, but that is about it.

I thought about a dinner ADR that day but I think we settled on playing it by ear and maybe just seeing what's available when we get there.

36 days left! And time for another update! On to day 2!

First on the plans is Breakfast at Ohana! We haven't decided how we're getting there yet. We might walk.... We might boat to MK then boat to the Poly, We might boat to MK and Monorail to the Poly. It will depend on what we feel like that morning.

After that it's time for our first park day! MK is first up! We have Fastpasses for Peter Pan, Buzz and a cinderella meet and greet!

And that's all the plans for day 2!

Your Fastpass selections are good ones. We found that the longest line we were in the who time was the Princesses meet and greet. Which makes sense since it is not a constantly moving and loading ride but depends on the length of time of the interactions of the guests.

I'm all about the charachter meet and greets so its a good fastpass for me! I'm still thinking about switching some of my other ride ones to meet and greets!

33 days! Our magic bands should ship this week and I'm so excited! Now onto day 3 plans!

Day 3 is Epcot. I tend to treat Epcot as 2 parks and plan one day in future world and 1 day at world showcase more often then not though we end up in both halves of the park on all the epcot days!

First up we have breakfast at Garden Grill! I've always wanted to eat here but have never been a fan of the lunch and dinner menu. I was so excited when they annonced they were adding breakfast! Breakfast is useually a pretty safe bet for my picky eater self! As far as getting there. I'm hoping to boat to MK then monorail to Epcot. But there's always the bus option if we need to.

My goal is to head right from breakfast to our living with the land fastpass. Then after the ride we should be right where we need to be for our behind the seeds tour! Then maybe a quick stop for lunch or just a snack if were hungry.

After our time exploring the land we might as well go vist the seas. And who better to show you the seas then nemo and friends! (Aka we have a fastpass for nemo) Then we have a fastpass for turtle talk and the rest of the day is ours! Most likely we'll end up wondering around world showcase or I'll wait in the standby line for charachter spot!

If you plan to be in EPCOT most of the day and evening, I have found that the lines for the character spot are fairly short in the evening. I think most families with little kids go there in the morning or afternoon and so the lines are relatively short.

I just checked my fastpasses for later in the week and I definitely forgot that I had a fastpass for character spot later in the week...:rolleyes1 But I might still wait. Or maybe I'll just venture around epcot or park hop. It will partly depend on what my mom and dad want to do and if they'll be with me or not!

You can just keep the Fastpass for now and just change it later when you are there if you want. It is nice to just go with the flow and what you feel like doing while you are there.

That's my plan. I thought about changing it but I looked and realized there wasn't really another fastpass that I wanted. So I'm looking forward to the go with the flow kind of evening. I tend to schedule everything around our ADR's so if we have a breakfast reservation our morning are more planned and we have the afternoon to decide what we want to do. If it's a lunch reservation our afternoons are a little more scheduled. Dinner and I tend to plan out our evenings a little more.

In similar fashion to Stacey, what are your top ten things to do at Disney?

Here are mine (at this time they are in no particular order. Just what I am thinking about right now). These are the actual things I have done in the past and look forward to doing again. Some other time we can make a list of the top things we want to try for the first time.

1. Watch Wishes
2. Ride Peter Pan
3. Ride It's a Small World
4. Ride Test Track
5. Have a great dinner at Ohana
6. Enjoy the resort pool or have fun at one of the water parks
7. (Wow!? - could it be that I truly only have six?) I guess I will have to revise my post later to add the last three.

29 Days! I'm starting to get that excited anxious feeling there's a lot to accomplish in the next 29 days! I've got some crazy work days coming up, I have my crafting blog to get scheduled posts done on for while we're gone, I have to finish the shopping and packing for the trip and I really want to make my own autograph book for this trip so I have to do that too!

Now onto the Fun Stuff and Day 4 Plans!

First up is Animal Kingdom for breakfast with Donald! I've never been to Tusker house before and I'm really looking forward to it! After that, I'm hoping to be able to ride standby for the safari but that's up in the air depending on the wait. Then it's time to buy our express pass to try out the new Express Bus option! We're park hoping quite a bit as the week goes on.

Then we head over to Hollywood Studios. There is almost nothing I want to do at this park. But I do want to ride Toy Story Midway Mania! So we have a fastpass for that in the afternoon. Then We have a dinner reservation for Minnie's Seasonal Dine and that is the Fantasmic Dining so once we're done with that it's off to Fantasmic. We'll see if there's anything else to fit in but Hollywood Studios has always been my least park....

I, totally agree with you. Since I do not like the big thrill rides, HS is a park that I can skip. I actually did skip it on our last trip and did not miss it.

We have similar tastes. When I saw the new character meal option featuring Minnie, it gave me a reason to go to Hollywood Studios. And since I have never seen Fantasmic, it seems like a good duo to try together someday.

Hmm this hard.....
1. Just being at the resort and in the parks there's just something ,well, magical about being there and I love it.
2. Meeting the charachters. Sometimes I'll even meet charachters I don't particularly like just because I like meeting charachters so much.
3. Trying diffrent resturants. I'm a bit of a picky eater not so much in terms of there are a lot of things that I won't eat but more so in that I'm a repetitive eater if you will and tend to like to eat the same things over and over so this one kind of comes out of nowhere but Disney has a pretty solid list of places with food that I'll like and if forces me to shake things up a bit.
4. Watching Stacy! I've been in love with resort TV channels since I was kid. I used to be able to watch them for hours! It's a little harder to get my parents to go along with it now but I still warch them as much as I can...

I think that's all I got at least for now!

Yup I'm not a thrill seeker either so there's not a lot for me to do here. Later in the week I might hop back for an hour or 2 to get in great movie ride and the little mermaid show and maybe the beauty and the beast show
But that's about it and I should be able to hopefully fit one more thing inbetween out toy story fastpass and dinner. Then probably wonder through the shops after dinner and before fantasmic. But I'm so excited for Minnie's seasonal dine! We ate at Hollywood and Vine last time and the food was good then they made it a charchter meal and it was a no brainer!

26 Days! Our magic bands shipped Saturday night and we got our Mickey Mail yesterday! It's getting so close!

Now onto day 4 plans!

I think this is the first day (other than arrival day) that we don't have breakfast planned! So we're heading straight to Epcot in the morning for a Spaceship Earth Fastpass! Followed by meeting Mickey and Friends at Character Spot. This one may change depending on if I decided to go to Character Spot on the first Epcot day. In which case I'll probably go find some World Showcase characters to meet and greet with! Then we go have some lunch at Biergarten! This is a new restaurant for us so I'm excited to try it! And the last planned activity for the day is a Frozen Ever After Fastpass!

22 Days! Next update will be under 20 Days! I'm so excited! So a few big things happened this week. 1. They announced River's of Light will be open while we're there and I was really excited! Until I figured out that there is no Rivers of light showing the night I had planned for us at animal kingdom! Ugh! I don't really feel like moving everything around. I think we might be able to make it to the showing on our First day but that will be the only day it will fit in our plans and I was hoping to watch wishes that day... since that's leaving too.... But considering we're staying at Wilderness Lodge hopefully that won't be too hard... But still hoping that Disney maybe adds a show the day I wanted :P

OK, enough of that time for the Day 5 Plans! Halfway through our trip and I'm super excited for this day!

Starting in the morning I have a pirate's league reservation! I get to be a mermaid and I'm super excited!

And of course, after becoming a mermaid you have to go visit the mermaid so I have a Fastpass with Ariel.

Then Lunch at Be our Guest! We did our pre-order this week and it Just made me even more excited!

After having lunch in the castle I thought it would be a good idea to see the princess who lives there! So it's off to enchanted tales with Belle!

And finally a ride on the voyage of the little mermaid. Depending on how the morning goes I might try to ride Standby for this before lunch but I have a fastpass just in case. This was originally a fastpass for Jungle Cruise but I decided I'd rather make it into a princess day.

Finally, we have a reservation at Trailsend for dinner. I'm thinking we might head over to the Chip and Dale campfire after possibly.

WOO HOO!:jumping1: Your MagicBands and Disney Mail arrived! Which means only one thing --- your trip is coming up really soon now!

Your EPCOT plans for the day looks like fun with a new restaurant and activity to try.

WOW! River of Lights is actually going to start? I agree with you in that I wouldn't change my plans right now for it since they might add or change days for it. If you get to see it great but otherwise, it will just be a good reason to plan a return trip.

Getting a make-over as a mermaid sounds like fun. You will have to post a picture in your TR when you return.
Eating at Trailsend Buffet and the Chip and Dale campfire are both on my lists of things I would love to do. :cool1:

I know I really thought River of Lights wouldn't happen for our trip! I was excited to find out it would be there but not so much about the schedule. We think we might have figured out another option to see it but still hoping they add a show on Friday. :) I'm getting to try and experience so many new things on this trip I can't wait!
