What exactly do you do on the Segway tour? Have you been on any of the other tours - my fiance and I are still planning our honeymoon - BTW we got engaged at WDW - a couple days later we went to CRT dinner and also got those champane glasses you were talking about earlier....what a fabulous surprise (to top it off - it was my first time there).

Jodistar:
On the Segway tour you begin in a training room at Epcot where a group of 10 (maximum) is shown how to start, step-onto, and ride a Segway. After an hour of learning in the room, you finally get to head out for an hour of riding around in World Showcase. This is a wonderful experience and we HIGHLY recommend it!

The classes are 8:30-10:30 and 9:30-11:30 (the second class enters the training room just after the first class heads out on their ride). I believe the regular cost is $80-85 per person but you can get discounts through AAA or Disney VISA or Annual Passes, perhaps others?

We have taken the Backstage tour (day-long) and I enjoyed it, but DH was a bit disappointed. You get to see lots of 'behind-the-scene' things, but admittedly, some was rather boring (area where they store all the Christmas decorations - spent 30 minutes there doing basically nothing). However, we really liked seeing the animatronics, animation areas, MK parade 'bubbles', and underground visit at MK. Also, you get a whole different perspective of AK! A bit pricey, but very informative tour.

You can get information on tours and book them through WDW-TOUR. I would encourage you guys (since you are on your honeymoon) to book one of the horse-drawn carriage rides. They have them at Dixie Landings and at Fort Wilderness. The rides are for 2 people and last 30 minutes. Cost is $30 and you pay the driver. Getting to FW is easiest (we found) by going to Wilderness Lodge and taking the boat over. If you link the carriage ride with Hoop-dee-doo-Review, it is a nice finish to the day. Book the earliest meal (5:00?) and you ride for afterward. They have blankets if the night is chilly.

We also very much enjoyed the Illuminations cruise - especially if you can get MIKE as your boat driver. He had so much knowledge and went out of his was to make the cruise fun for adults and kids. It is also fun to get a group of Disboarders to join you and defrey the cost!

Enjoy your honeymoon - Disney style! Oh, and say Hi! to Goofy for me please. :teeth:

Come on you guys!! We ARE a creative bunch!! Consider this an assignment...you're in a creative writing class and have been given the list of criteria...you have the characters..you have the location...you have a protagonist and an antagonist (maybe a couple of those)...it's up to YOU to create what the "event" or "trip from hell" consisted of...this could be fun! Atleast it'll give us something to read until the OP can pop back in with the real story...I'm game...I just don't have time at this sec to put my cogs working....I'll work on it tonight and hope someone else takes the bait! :)

each morning – and continually throughout the day – they would ask “where are we supposed to go today?” or “what do we do next?” or “when are we supposed to eat?”
:crazy2:

Here are 6 passes for Space Mountain. You can use them anytime today. Enjoy!” and he was gone........... Instead of being appreciative, her reaction “Well, I certainly am not riding that.”

On the morning we went to AK, I even talked my way into our being chosen as the ‘first family of the day’ (got the CM to include the couple in front of us and six others in line behind us to make 12). We were the first to ride the Safari and the CM himself gave us a special tour instead of the usual ‘driver-telling-the-story.’ .......... Her reaction? “I really didn’t appreciate you volunteering for us to be rushed so much. I could have done without practically running to catch a ride in a bumpy jeep.”
:crazy2:

Her next comment was "Whew, it sure is hot up here at the top!" With my biggest smile yet I said "Yes, it is" as I turned on my little battery operated fan.
:rotfl2:

She loved the show but lamented that she had not seen it from the beginning. “They should schedule these things better. Everyone should be seated before they begin.” I bit my tongue. :bitelip: “It would have been nice not to have to practically RUN to get here only to have to WAIT all that time and still miss the beginning.”
:rolleyes1

By now my tongue was bleeding!
:rotfl:

She is still a very dear friend and we will continue to travel with them.

You are a saint for remaining patient in those situations. I nearly died laughing at some of your experiences. Your post deserves it's own spot on the board!!! A really great read!

Glad to hear it hasn't adversely affected your friendship. I am in awe of your patience! I'm glad she finally came to realise that you put a tremendous amount of work into planning the trip. Thanks for the entertainment (sorry it was at your expense, lol!). :goodvibes

I just read through all 4 pages trying to find out what happened and I'm still hanging. I leave for Europe in a week...sure do hope you post the rest of this before I leave.

DebIreland -
Thanks for the words of sympathy and encouragement. I have to admit, I had fretted and stressed so much in the planning process for this trip that my expectations were pretty high. They had shared such wonderful trips with us in the past, I really wanted this to be memorable for them. :hyper:
So, realizing I was placing undo pressure on myself with my expectations, I certainly was putting too much creadence into their reaction. Sometimes things just have to sink in & stew a little to really be appreciated - kind of like 2nd day chili?
They have a vacation club membership and provide the housing for our trips. We pay for ground transportation and pick up some of the meals to compensate. Now, mind you, they haven't yet invited us on a trip for next year :sad1: but there is still time!?!
One of the 'rewards' from this posting is that I met a great couple (you guys know who you are) who have asked that I help plan their June trip to WDW. It is really fun sharing ideas and tips with them.
Besides, it is helping with my trip-planning withdraw. And you really compulsive planners KNOW how that feels, right? :faint:
Now, if they just remember to send me some pictures of the trip! :disrocks:

::MickeyMo Ok besides delswife and Zurg now I can Check this one too for the ending

thanks a lot

Paul
