The Travoltas are expecting!

DD was in the breakfast nook this morning, having breakfast while I got her lunch ready. The TV in the living room was on, so there was a bit of noise. DH came out of the bedroom, which is a fair distance away and I thought he said, "John Bradford and his wife are having a baby." I puzzled a moment because I was doing my best to think if I'd ever met a coworker of his named John Bradford. That wasn't the name of the guy whose wife was doing IVF. Hmmm... Finally, I gave up and had to admit ignorance. I said, "I'm sorry, but I don't remember who John Bradford is." He said, "No, John TRAVOLTA and his wife." I told him that I'd read it on the DISboards yesterday.

It's always here first. :thumbsup2

Better her than me:rotfl2: I can't imagine being pregnant right now (well, I'm almost 50 though) or chasing a toddler. Although I have two friends right now that have obtained custody of their grandbabies, one is my age and her new granddaughter is 5 months old, although she's had her since birth and the other is a few years younger and the kids are a little older. I do wish the Travoltas the best of luck with their new child though:) It's quite different really wanting a new baby rather than being blessed with a "change of life" suprise or raising a grandchild.

I call DD13 my mid-life crisis love child and I was 37 when I got pregnant with her, I don't know what I'd call a new baby now:laughing:

My internist assures me I could get pregnant, and I've got a few years on Kelly.

We have a friend who had triplets when she was 47. They are 12 now.

I remember hearing something recently about a lot of these "miracle" older celeb preg's aren't as easily achieved as they would have you believe. Quite a few are as a result of donor eggs. It's just not talked about.

I wish them all well. They deserve some good news.

Wonderful news! I hope all goes well for them..

I'm happy for them, but I couldn't imagine having a baby that late in life. I had my youngest when I was 36, and I was okay as long as she only woke up once during the night. If she woke up for that secong feeding, I was just so tired the entire day. Of course, Kelly Preston is in much better shape than I am AND she will have a lot more help than I did, too.

How old is John Travolta, BTW? Isn't he a few years older than his wife?

I sincerely wish them all the best.

We were discussing this at my job just yesterday. I had my son at 36 and thought I was old! Amazing, every woman in my office either had a child in their forties OR had a mother who had them in their 40s!! One girl is 38 and her Mom is 91!!! :scared1:

I guess I was a spring chicken!!

I am sooo happy for the Travoltas! I also know the unbelievable pain of losing a child and I cannot tell you what a blessing it was when I had my second son. 17 years later and I STILL feel blessed!! :cloud9:
