The Travellers Cheque Card

Sorry me again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I looking at getting my $$$ sorted and like most people I am looking at taking Travellers Cheques.

I have been on the Amex site and come across the "The Travellers Cheque Card"

Has anyone used one of these and if so are they better than the paper format??

I have not used one I must admit. I think they would be a great idea for someone who didn;t have a debit card; I like the paper travellers cheques as I don't have to keep track of my spending (other than to get two new TCs out every day as I pre-budget this)

My fear with the card would be that I would "run out" before the end as I might lose track and have to resort to using my CC, LOL

Looks like quite a good idea, only downside I can see is that you can only use it where Amex is accepted which is obviously not as flexible as cash or TC's.

Very bad idea! I did some research on this (and other cards) and it comes down to nothing but bad things for most people.

1. You cant use them anywhere that AMEX isnt supported.
2. You can only load $2500 onto them. (If you want more on it then sorry. They dont allow that. )
3. If you want a card for each member of your family(husband, wife, kids) then sorry, but that is not allowed. One card per person and kids cannot use them. So you would not have one for kids to keep their money seperate.)

Other cards (Visa, etc...)

1. These cards only allow $1500 on the cards total.
2. They also only allow you to spend $250 a day and no more than $850 per week.

My family is taking $1900 spending money each (4 of us) for the 8 days and we really want the option of spending it all if we want/need to. (not that we will mind you.)
