Has anyone else noticed that the train whistle on Mr. Toad hasn't worked for the past few months? The first time I didn't hear it, I presumed it would be fixed in short order. It hasn't been, which makes me wonder if it was a conscious choice to eliminate it. I think it's an important part of the ride. Why would they take it away? I suppose I could simply ask a cast member but, as Kramer once said about the police, "What are they gonna do?" It's much more fun to speculate here on the boards ;-).

It might be broken. I've seen burned-out lights and anamatronics on Pirates and Splash Mountain go unrepaired for long periods of time. As to why it takes so long, I'm not sure. It's possible it'll be repaired when they get around to it. Not wanting to start any internet rumors....*snort*

I get it but it's kind of surprising that with Disney's (seeming/presumed) resources, things would go unrepaired for weeks/months.

There's not a train whistle on Mr. Toad. There's a police whistle (part of the courtroom scene just prior to the train). It's a London Bobby whistle, not the kind we're used to here in the US. It could be confused with a train whistle. The actual train scene has a bell.

Don't know whether it's working or not, haven't been on the ride for a bit.

No, there's is a train whistle -- it can be heard here:
I know what a London Bobby's whistle sounds like. It's heard much earlier in the ride. This is definitely a train whistle and it hasn't worked in the past two months or so.
