We bought our membership over the phone (took a tour 4 or 5 years ago). Now that we're members, we want to tour some of the rooms. Is that allowed? Do we still have to make an appointment or can we just show up?
Will we be pressured to do an add-on, etc?

After doing research and talking to our DVC guide on the phone for several weeks...we bought over the phone. 2 yrs. later we were at Disney, called up our guide and he gladly set up a time for us to meet and greet and tour whatever we wanted to see. We even got free freshments, soda and ice cream after touring with our guide. He explained about adding on. But no high pressure sale pitch at all. We left happy and full of ice cream!:rotfl:

We went down without the kids a couple of years ago to look and decide weather to by or not. We toured SSR and met our guide. He then told us we could go check out all the other resorts if we wanted to. We had a rental car so off we went. When asked at the gates we told them what we were doing they let us in. At each resort we asked the desk if we could tour and they always hooked us up with a staff member to show us a room or two. Since we didn't have the kids and gas was cheap we decided to drive over to Vero Beach and take a look there also. We've stayed at all but three of them in under 4 years and haven't looked back since. Good luck.

We have only been members since July '07. When we were down in January, we went to the preview center at SSR, told them we were members and wanted to see the AKV model. A girl took us over and showed it to us no problem. No sales pitch, nothing.
