Okay, I truly 'gotta get some Zzzzzzzzs!

Goodnight Cat! Goodnight madbrad! (And, goodnight to anyone whose green lights I may have missed...) :wave2:

Mrs.Fleagle
I'm sorry things haven't been going so well at the Fleagle household. Sometimes it seems it all comes at one time. Your luck seems like my luck - if there wasn't such a thing as bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all.

Cheers to me and you! I don't drink, but perhaps we can toast to our own pity party! Looking forward to the virtual pool party!

I have a funny (well, I think it's funny) story about our pool when I was growing up.

We had a pool in our side yard that you accessed by the side door. We had changed our garage into a family room and that side door went to the pool area. That door also never really shut and locked completely.
Years after our pool was in major disrepair, the side was caving in, the vinyl liner was ripped and it just really became a swappy type thing.
Well, our house had an oil heater and when the oil man had to come to fill it up each Fall he had to come into the pool area to get to it. My late father was skeptical of most people and was worried that he might one day notice that the side door wasn't fully locked and break into our house. So one day when the oil man asked my dad what happened to our pool he responded, "Oh, we have a pet alligator! Don't worry though, he doesn't usually come out of the water." The look on that man's face was priceless! He was petrified and I'm sure never spend one second more in out pool area than was necessary! That story still cracks me up~ :lmao:

Have a great day!

CalDisneyFamily,

I've been trying to send you a PM but it just won't load up for some reason :confused3 ....so I'll make a public Thank You! :mic:

Yesterday we received a wonderful surprise in our mailbox from you! THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH! The pins are awesome....we love them! And thank you for thinking of us. The pins were so appropriate...The Magic Of Friendship and the wave Yin and Yang is very cool! I can't wait for our next trip to Disney to wear all our new pins from our new friends. It will have so much more meaning now! (I won't trade my new ones....I just like to wear them!)
So thank you Wendy and to all of you who have sent us pins and thank you gifts (our OK Sooners magnet is still on our fridge Missy)! Trust me when I say that you ALL have given us way more than we gave you!

Big hugs!:grouphug:

Amy

Hey Amy, just have to say that that magnet makes me smile because it's at least in part a small tribute to Eric's grandfather...a true pioneer and maker of magic in his own right! ;)

I'd love to meet you as well! We might just be passing each other, though. I think I'll be there the 13th - 16th. I don't have any travel or flight plans, though, so I'm not sure how much I'll be around on the 16th. I'll keep you posted!!!
Sounds good! We don't get in late until the 16th, like around midnight.

Thanks guys for all the nice thoughts......

It was a beautiful drive and relatively uneventful...Virginia really is beautiful. And thank goodness for vans with DVD players! Unfortunately we lost our game....oh well.

Glad to see Justin is back on board...get it? BACK ON BOARD? :rotfl:
I know....that was bad. I'm just really tired and what's that you asked? Oh, yes dinner? We ordered Pizza Hut (one large cheese pizza and the new pasta thing) and guess what? Yep, they sent us the WRONG pizza! So, after arguing back and forth we now have a CREDIT with pizza hut because it would take too long to get us another pizza delivered. (and they didn't even leave us the wrong one to compensate) Dawson is screaming because he was excited for pizza and doesn't like the "wacky noodles". No worries....the leftover chocolate glazed donut from this morning seemed to pacify him. But seriously, WHO exactly did we tick off so much that we have a permanent black cloud hovering over us?

All good thoughts and :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes to the Fleagles. Bugs - why did it have to be bugs!!! And then scary pizza on top of everything else :scared1: .

Those times where you're trying to go one step ahead and instead you end up steps back are so hard. I've just had a number of days in a row like that too, so much so that I am sure I did something really horrible in a former life. The great thing is to get here and catch up, be able to commiserate and also to laugh and laugh.

Two Words -- Pool Boy!!!;)
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

"Oh, Pool Boy"....
and again :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I refuse to wear a speedo.
and yet again! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Also, Cat's barrel plan and new signature piece: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks, tothesea, for Mickey's fine adventures and give a kiss to sweet Zoe from me!

madbrad - Thanks for offering to have a pool party. I'll bring the Tiki torches!

I feel so much better now!!

Since we are a little slow this weekend (hope everyone is having good family time and getting lots of work done), here are my latest 2 crafts for our trip.

These are the LGMH (Lime Green Mickey Heads) I made for our stroller and my Baggalini (bag/purse) to identify myself as a DISer. One side says DIS and the other says Marshay.

And here is the Door Sign that I will tape to our BCV room door. The bottom left side is a pocket for folks to get a decorated note card and write a message (I'll attach a pen, too).

I did this last year and got a lot of great messages, including a pin from the Front Desk and a pin from Mousekeeping.

The note says, "Hello Disney Lovers. Write something sweet and fun for us to enjoy. May your dreams come true."

Hi everyone! Looks like I found some of the "Fleagle" luck too!

Yesterday was just great......kids were swimming in our pool (chilly but beautiful)......I was even thinking about the people on this board and the challenges being faced........talked to my husband about it all and just took in our fortunate moment.

Then the rain came and came and came and came. Six inches of rain in a matter of a couple of hours. Drought schmout!

We came home after playing wicked rounds of Euchre with some life-long friends. In fact, due to the extensive rain, we drove an elderly couple home to make sure they got home safely.

Checked on my pool when we got home, and the liner was FLOATING IN THE POOL! FLOATING IN THE POOL!!! I was heartsick.

Got up this morning to what looked like a swamp and just was lost. That said, I also turned to my husband and said, this is not a terminal illness. This is simply a pool. Yes, I was and am completely bummed, but as we had neighbors here helping us with pumps and all......my next door neighbors also stopped by.

These neighbors have just lost their home. Foreclosure. Can I tell you how horrible it felt to see them in my backyard and offering ME support?! We have tried everyway we could to save their home for them but it still felt so wrong. Again, perspective really helps ground us.

Also, this week my daughter's lymph node was enlarged and painful to the touch.....googling is both a blessing and a curse.........it was on my mind and I was going to take her in on Monday if it didn't go down.....it did go down today! So see, the perspective was wonderful. I cried as I told my kids that the pool is just a pool and Karen's lymph node meant so much more to me than any pool!

Kinda puts a hold on our plans to build on to the house. We were going to add a bathroom with a shower and doors to the living room so there would be a bedroom on the first floor. I wanted to add this for my parents if they ever need to come here and stay with us.

But I just baked brownies and orange bars (Paula Deen's OH MY!) for the people who helped and realized although my luck was definitely not good today......it was an awesome day! A few good friends here to help, an awards ceremony for my children who BOTH won a state writing award and we took my parents and family out to eat afterwards!

And I talked about all of YOU too at dinner! The board, the contest, the winner (Yay Justin) and all of it! Oh, and my sister just got back from Disney World and gave me a Mickey pancake mold and Mickey ice cube tray.

So pool party at my house.....just not today, okay?

OH, Ann -- sorry to hear about the pool and so very glad to hear that your daughter's lymph node has gone down.

OK, my last post showing off our Disney crafts (or at least the last one for tonight!! :rotfl2: )

Here are this year's tie dye shirts.

I really like them and all the colors and patterns that show up. We added the Mickey swirl this year with a bleach pen.

My critique: If we do this next time, we won't let the bleach sit so long since it really made our fuschia turn pink. Also, we put the swirls a little too close together. But no worries, we learn a little more each time we do these.

The back of the shirts:

I really like the sunburst pattern around the back of my MH.

Well that's a relief! ;)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Okay, that was SO funny! Sorry I haven't been around much this week. I've been playing catch up tonight. We did a bucket load of packing yesterday continuing to ready the house for sale. Hope everyone has a great week. I'll be checking in from time to time, but I really must pack, pack, pack!

Suz
