Have you read our posts pointing out we understood the written rules, and we agreed to them, and it's the seemingly lack of adherence to those rules that are making us question the process?

OK, I've stayed quiet about this long enough and wanted to post a 'yes, I agree'. I know others have commented, some are still miffed and still others are saying enough already. I guess I just wanted to say my piece as well.

Feel free to comment (or not)...this is a cathartic step for me.

The lack of adherance to these rules still bothers me. If I knew I could have disregarded these rules and still advanced, I would have gone in a completely different direction. However, knowing that Disney had the male 28+yo male in mind at the end of the day anyway, just relieved me of future heartache, so I should be happy of my lot!

1. Content of Online Entry video clip is limited to an audio commentary by entrant describing why he/she would be the perfect candidate for the position of CMO.

Therefore I was afraid to have my DH, DD or friends in the video. I truly thought we were only allowed to have ourselves in the video​

2. Music cannot be included in any Online Entry submitted. Any Online Entry submitted with music will be disqualified.

No music -- whether a capello or instrumental​

3. The presence of children in the video clip is allowed, but only if entrant is the parent or legal guardian of such children.

Now, this one seemed in direct opposition to rule #1, but ok, so only your own children. Yet grandchildren in a video were allowed to advance...​

4. No previously published video clips may be submitted nor will such a submission qualify as an Online Entry.

So I was not going to post my video to another site, such as YouTube.​

NOTE: This is not meant to be negative to any of the Top 20/10/3. Good for you to color outside the line and advance! I hold no hard feelings against any of you. My RANT and VENT is not toward you personally, but toward the sponsors.

I guess I just try to fall on the side of following the rules...figuring they were created for a purpose and reason and that the people who create them, will follow them too!

But then again, I live near Washington, DC -- political capital of the world ... so why am I still naive in this??​

Well, it's 5:45 AM, and I've been up since 4:30 and can't fall back asleep... I keep thinking about something...what is it? Oh yeah! I'm leaving for Disneyland today! We're leaving this afternoon and stopping in Primm (near Vegas) for the night, then arriving in Anaheim Saturday morning for 3 and 3/4 days at the parks!

The weather will be quite a change. It's supposed to be in the 80's while I'm there. Quite a change for us, considering it SNOWED at my house last night.

Anyway, I hope you all have fun on the DISboards, and by the time I get back, you'll probably have reached the 250-page limit on this thread and have started a new one! See you then!

CAT, I read your "Miserable Memories" story, and I'm very sorry to hear about such awful service (but pleased to hear about those Cast Members who showed more of the Disney spirit!). Hope the rest of your trip is more magical.

Thanks, Andy - I'm feeling better this morning - it's amazing what a little food and sleep can do!

I have to tell you it was such a kick seeing CalDisney with her "Andy-tar" shirt. It really is so cool!

Woke up this morning feeling all the love from you guys, and knew today was going to be a good day.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door - guess who?

MICKEY MOUSE!!!!!!!!

Okay, it was DISgeeks' friend, Miniature Mickey! He came to par-tay with me and Tigger!

Tigger was so happy they started doing flips on the bed!

To work off some of that energy - I took them to a field that someone (can't remember who) posted their kids liked to run thru. Tigger and Mickey ran like the wind! Here they are resting after all that exercise!

Ahh, breakfast and some yummy beignets all around!

Here's Scott, a castmember who helped us smile this morning while we bought my - Wait for it - ticket to tonight's Pirate and Princess Party!

Yes, that is what I did, too many times.....because it then generated another code and so I just figured I was fine. Since I had not seen the 'thanks for voting' screen, I didn't know to even look for it.

Until I read it on here, I voted that way. I am somewhat computer savvy. Just made me wonder how many other people might have done this as well.

I agree that stinks! I forgot another one. Rules said 100 meg limit, but the site would only allow a 50 meg upload. Bad show!

I think the whole music thing has been a major faux pax as well. As I stated earlier they actually allowed a person in HM category last year to advance to final 20 in spite of the fact that it had background music throughout. We don't know what happened to the lady, she was quickly dismissed from the contest after the voting had begun. Her video dissappeared from the net. I'm guessing that she may have been compensated for the mistake???

The pirate's outline last year called for someone who could sing a good "yo ho," so I figured singing (badly) would be okay. I totally understand everyone's confusion in this matter.

And Kenny - please don't be too offended by this - but you've already won a Disney Dream contest - you can afford to take the tack that we knew when we signed up what the rules were. That is a bunch of malarky. Have you read our posts pointing out we understood the written rules, and we agreed to them, and it's the seemingly lack of adherence to those rules that are making us question the process? And as a winner, at least in the Disney sense, you can't possible understand the way we feel as "losers". I know you tow the Disney line, but in this case I think you missed the boat - yep that big old pirate boat.

Kenny, since I called you out in public, please feel free to scuttle me in public.

It's great that we can all share our feelings and I see that you're very upset with Disney in general as well as specific to this CMO stuff too. I've never told someone that their thoughts are "malarky" (empty rhetoric or insincere or exaggerated talk). That is the only part of your comments that I find hurtful.

Yes, I was a winner last year. No, I don't know in this contest what it feels like to be eliminated. But I've had many crushing blows in my lifetime. Have I tried to show compassion to my new friends, I feel the answer is yes. Have I tried to fairly discuss the pros and cons of this contest so the sponsors can do better in the future, I feel that is yes as well.

I don't tow the Disney line or any other line. I don't owe them anything and they don't owe me anything. I had an incredible experience that was truly once-in-a-lifetime. I've given several critiques of this contest as well.

I'll PM you my sympathy on your POFQ incident.

Hi Everyone! I've been reading but just haven't had time to post in the last two days. I'm doing housework and relaxing tomorrow so I'll post then. I've got lots of things to add to what's been happening for the last 20+ pages.

I'm off to get the blankets and shoes together at the top of the stairs in case we need to head to the basement tonight. We're up for severe weather from 1-4 AM and I'm not excited about potentially getting Katie, Bobbie, and two dogs down there in a timely and orderly fashion. (Can I just say for the umpteenth time that I completely admire single parents who are able to do it all. I really don't know how they do it). Fortunately a tornado siren is about 300 yards from our house as we live right by the school. Tooth, there's no question that I won't hear it, but it really scared me that you didn't hear yours. You may want to move in with me until tornado season is over!

We lived in Cape Cod for three years so we're excited to go back. We're going to freeze - we've gotten used to California weather but it will be fun.

We're going to take a picture of our feet in the Pacific, drive across the country and take a picture with our feet in the Atlantic!
