Finally...I mentioned earlier that I indulged in an AMAZING makeover during our recent Spring Break vacation (THANKS CAT) !!! Whadd'ya'll think??? Not to start another Y'ALL vs. YA'LL debate. Hee hee!

It's a little big (and lonely) here tonight...so feel free to move your things in any time! I definitely think we can whip up some serious magic and pixie dust here! It's right next door to another room filled with all sorts of "cutouts" and "small automobiles"?????

Hi gang..... so I'm certainly not posting this looking for sympathy, but most of you guys are an online extension of my friends and family at this point.... DH and I just got a call from his mother.... the lump she had removed in surgery the other day found to have cancer inside the lump. I guess the initial tests gave it the all clear, but they wanted to remove it before it started to calcify. After the surgery they did more tests and found part of it to be cancerous.... needless to say... all is not bright and sunny in the Lynch-Perry household this afternoon.

Here's a hug for you HMF ... I will keep you, your DH, and MIL in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Thanks! It's not a deal yet. Just someone in publishing that is a totally Disney Fan, too who is really interested! Keep your fingers crossed for me and say a prayer!

What can I say, HMFan?!? (That irony wasn't lost with me either. ... And I'm the one who tried to deflect people's criticisms about the first-round contest results waaaay back in our first thread. )

That is why I have to believe that the votes truly were tallied, and the public has chosen three 30-something white males.
(It's not like our finalists aren't talented and capable! As an aside: Go guys! Nothing personal! 'Just trying to understand the deal with our Sponsors. ) Otherwise, some strong women candidates were overlooked, and -- as has been asked before -- why bother stringing people along...

[Sigh!] At the very least, the whole process should have been handled more professionally. I was willing to let some of the earlier "issues" slide. The contest was young. Plus, (to me, at least) they weren't as glaring and didn't bother me as much. Now, though, the "elephant" in the room is getting pretty hard to ignore... (Come on Sponsors! What's with the unedited form letters?! Now you're messing with our people, who worked really hard to promote you!! Show some respect, please!)

I'm taking my 11 year old to New York City in June to see some broadway shows, take some classes, and just have some "girl" time.

Oh my gosh, that is the trip of my daughter's dreams. She was begging for it for her 12th BD years ago and it would have been so neat. We are still hoping for it, and if we move to WV we'll be that much closer and can drive. Let us know what shows you see. Where are you staying? I'll pick your brain when you get back because I'd really like to do that for my Katie.

When does your 11 yo turn 12? Katie would love to have an e-mail pal.

Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm still fairly new to this site, posting mostly on the planning boards. But now that I've found this page, I'd like to move into the big house with everyone (if that's okay)!

This thread sure does grow at a very rapid rate! It took me a while just to catch up on everything that happened yesterday. On that note - HauntedMansionFan - I understand what you are going through right now. DH's mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer about 2 months ago. Fortunately (if you can say that about cancer) her lump was very small, and all she had to go through was a lumpectomy and 1 week of a specialized radiation and then she was done! I wish you and your family the very best and will keep you in my prayers.

She turns 12 actually the day we come home...June 26th. We're staying right in the theater district. Going to see Mary Poppins and A Chorus Line.
Eric and I have a really close friend who lives in New York and has been in many shows on Broadway...he comes and does Master Classes at my dance studio, so we hope to meet up with him too.

A little shopping....maybe some dance classes at Steps or Broadway Dance Center? We'll only be there two days....and I'm already feeling the need to medicate myself....I have NEVER been away from my kids and I'm kinda freaking out! Really really nervous!
