I bought a little wooden box for milk teeth that I saw on holiday years ago, and gave it to DDs to use. It was only after they'd started using it that I discovered it wouldn't take anything bigger than a 20p coin!!

I did sometimes put a few 20p coins in together, but it definitely wasn't big enough to take any folding money!

My boys are older now, but it was usually around 50p they got !!

Mr eldest DD cottoned onto the fact that losing teeth was a good money making scheme, she had 3 in one week... only a £ in our house

£1 here too although they do also get a letter from their fairy and they write to the fairies too which have been kept to read when they're older

I had a man and his dd come in the shop yesterday, he bought her a foil star balloon and I personalised it with "Happy Tooth Party" £4.49, then he bought a Me to You bear dressed as a duck another £10!
Must admit I thought it was a bit over the top but Hey if they are payin!

Shelby will be getting £1 for hers for sure! The tooth fairy by us can't carry much change!

Our daughter lost one of her teeth on the 10 Day Southern Caribbean last September, the same day as one her friends she met in the kids club.
We agreed with the other girls parents that as it was an exceptionally difficult journey for the tooth fairy they both had $10.00 each.
However, back home in the UK it would normally be £2.00 or a £5.00 note.

OMG when i lost a tooth we only got sixpence. I know that the cost of living has gone up but i did'nt realise by that much.
In just over a week i'm going into hospital to have a tooth removed so i wonder what i'll get for my tooth ?. My parents are coming to stay this weekend & will let them know how much the tooth fairy is leaving these days.
Will live in hope that i might get the much

Its a pound coin per tooth in our house, but a £2 coin for each of the two big front teeth.

My best friends son did get a £10 note once, but that was coz the tooth fairy 'forgot' the first night and didn't have any change the second night!! LOL!!!
