Just figured I'd share a positive story from our recent trip.
Quick back story: Our DS11 is very shy and does not like to stand out in public at all. He is always trying to blend in. Even though he always wants to get picked for things, he never does because he is too shy to even raise his hand all the way up.
Anyway, we went on our first UO trip at the end of August. When they let everyone in to the Disaster pre-show area, we happened to end up right in front of the TM running the show. When getting the "actors" she asked for a boy around 10-12 and before he realized what was going on she picked DS! When he realized what he had volunteered for, he turned numerous shades of gray, but he did it. He actually performed in front of the theater full of people, which if you knew him, is a huge accomplishment. Afterward he said he was very scared, but I could tell he was so proud. Definitely a magical moment for all of us.
So, thank-you to the TM for choosing him! She has no idea what that did for his self-esteem.
