First- the introduction....
31 year old, single mom of 2 dd's 10 and 9. Full time college student in the Respiratory Therapy program....1 year left! WHOOHOO
So why am I here? What do I hope to gain?
Basically I'm here because I need a place to be held accountable I guess or better yet a place to keep track of what I'm doing thats right and what I'm doing thats not so right.
What I hope to gain is a sense of better living. I have always been 'active' played 3 sports a year in high school etc, coached my kids sports teams, trained lifeguards for rec depts etc. and then I enrolled in college. To say I gained the 'freshman 15' would be correct
I started drinking full beer, no more mich ultra I went to mich lagar....couple of them here and there and wow the pounds come on. happy to report, haven't had a drink since January 1st, 2007 at 2:48am...
Sugar- addicted I am. Wait, I can say was now. I switched my coffee sugar over to splenda, stopped drinking regular soda, switched to diet caffeine free coke, and have been trying to eliminate anything 'white' in my diet. NOTE*** when I say diet- I dont mean 'diet' i mean, diet as in what i'm eating.....
Carbs- i'm a junkie. Crunchie, salty, etc... yup those are all carbs, so what am I doing about that? Carrot sticks- thats the crunchy snack of choice...
My main goal would be to be healthier, and lose weight, however I don't own a scale, so I'm not that concerned with my overall body weight. I personally think that number is deceiving, since it tells you nothing.
As of today, I've started keeping track of what I eat, and what I do for exercise. I'm going to join the gym at some point next week ($) and will have 3 sessions with a trainer, to help me set up my plan. the gym is in the town I go to school, so I drive by it every day anyway!
I do have stuff here to use, but I dont 'make' myself do it. By paying out money, hopefully I will actually go everyday!
I figure if I quit smoking (GASP!) a respiratory therapy student that smokes! I could use that money to pay for the gym membership, and my budget wont take the hit.
Anywho........here's the daily foods so far.
